Southbound Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Nixa

Our bartender and server were very nice and accurate with our orders, but we were originally quoted $35 for a cover charge per person for our 6 person group. We told them we were not interested at that price but we would pay $10 per person, which the door person accepted. After 40 minutes, the band was done and the manager came over and said we had to pay another cover because everyone else was paying a $50 cover. I told the manager that we paid our cover as discussed at the door and that we were not paying another cover and I was paying for drinks and food for 6 people. She demanded we pay more and I told her that we would close our tab of the food and beer that was just been served to us. She demanded that we leave and I responded that we would finish our beers and food that we had just ordered. Our waitress came to close out our tab and told us we had to leave before the next band started. I requested the manager call me because I was disappointed in how the manager approached us. This was my first time at this establishment and our friends who we were with said they have never had issues but this was their worst...

When I want to meet friends for a great time, Southbound is on my list for mulitple reasons.

Location is convenient, fantastic hours, and wonderful service.

A GOOD bartender has the ability to provide solid customer service, using experience, knowledge and skill while maintaining cleanliness and quick attention.

A GREAT one will go beyond that to also show professionalism and demonstrate responsible behaviors. I do appreciate someone that pours appropriately, which keeps us happy without getting over served, and is an asset to their profession. A true example of driving repeat business. There is someone truly GREAT at this bar, and her name is Mississippi.

First time going, and the last! I heard they usually have good bands at this bar, so I went to see what Southbound was all about. 1 they didn't even have a real website couldn't find out who was playing or how much cover was. 2 When I tried to call a few times phone kept going to voicemail and the mail box was full. 3 When I got there cover was $25 bucks. I've never had to pay more than $15 at actual good venues. But again if I would have know before hand how much it would have been I would not have come. 4 once I paid to get in I went to the bar because that is where everyone was at, I ordered a drink sat down. We eventually got a waitress and tells us if we have an open tab at the bar we have to go up there all night and get drinks, Or we could close out and use the waitress then I find out you have to have a $10 minimum to close out your tab. 5 over all poor communication there, very hot inside, and if you want a drink good luck it will be 10 minutes or longer before...
