My Niece took my here as a Mother’s Day dinner. We came late night on a Saturday. Well I walked into a beautiful soft light restaurant and it smelled amazing. I was impressed by atmosphere. A simple table for 2. Well with a rather clear night, we had to wait for the waitress to clean off the table for us to sit and dine. At first I thought it was just our both, but no I was wrong. Every table down below was dirt and needed to be cleaned. Now I’m trying not to judge, we may have missed a rush and I understand things can get busy. I was wrong no one cleaned the tables unless someone was needed a table. Otherwise they were left untouched. Our waitress was Dominique. We waited 10 minutes for her to come to introduce herself and just as long for a glass of water. We ordered drinks from the bar as we reviewed the menu. It has so many tasty items. I heard great reviews about the crab cakes and salmon so I already knew what I was excited to taste. However I saw the steak and Mac and cheese from the other customers and now I’m overwhelmed with excitement to taste even more. Well I eventually ordered the spaghetti after the waitress insisted because it was so delicious. I was not impressed because the sauce was too sweet for me. I respect the authenticity of the sauce made by a master chef. I just don’t like sugar and I can taste it a mile away. I was willing to just take the meal that I ordered home for my family to taste. However the waitress suggested I change it to something different. I ordered the salmon instead. Well that return and remade meal had me waiting 40 minutes!! With the few people that was in the building, Everyone ate and was leaving. The manager came out and had a whole conversation with another table and she never came over to make sure everything was going well. Needless to say at this point I’ve lost my appetite. The worst part was Dominque was no where to be found to ask questions or advise we were ready to leave. Finally my meal comes out and at this point I’m just ready to leave. When my food was finally served, so quickly offered the dessert menu. I haven’t even tasted my meal yet. I just asked for a box to take my meal home. The box and the check came back to the table in 3 minutes. And I do mean 3 minutes! Slow to service and quick to pay! She even came back to the table 3 times to collect my payment while I was just trying to pack up my meal. Where was this service when I came in and ordered my meal? Or maybe she felt that it’s no need to give good service because the 20% gratuity is automatically added and she doesn’t have to work for it. Well to my surprise, the gratuity was NOT automatically added. Thank goodness! Now I did leave a tip but it wasn’t the 20% she thought she was going to receive. To even hear the conversation that she was having with a coworker regarding calling out of work the next day because she’s tired. That explains to service. However that’s no excuse. I used to be so excited to come to the establishment after my niece always talk about this is her favorite restaurant and those crab cakes. Yes I can agree the crab cakes are definitely a 10 out 10! I had to order one with my salmon meal! Maybe one day I will return for the crab cakes and salmon but definitely not because of the service provided. It’s not worth...

To negate the fact is not an option so here are the facts. Waited standing for more than 5 minutes while the waiter was discussing with the barman. The barman was looking at me but nobody moved. Curiously, later in the evening, when a nice looking women arrived at the restaurant and the waiter was not available, the barman left the bar unattended to welcome the lady. I ordered for a glass of wine and a salad with balsamic dressing. I received a salad but no wine and no dressing. The waiter (not the one who was supposed to welcome people, the one who was taking the orders) finally came back with a dressing which was actually just water. I have the feeling that she confused a dirty cup from the sink with a cup of dressing. Then I asked for my glass of wine and she asked "which wine do you want ?". I answered "well, the one I ordered for". She forgot so I reordered and finally got the wine after some more time. At the time I wanted to pay, no more waiters. So I went to the entrance asking to pay so I could leave this sordid place. The person in charge of welcoming people told me she had to call my waiter because my check was open on another tab so she couldn't do anything for me. It took some time and the waiter came and looked upset. At that time I did not say anything to anyone but when I saw how upset she was, I had to say what was wrong. So it is impossible that the manager considers nothing happened that evening as it was mentioned. I forgot to mention that we were a total of 10 to 12 customers in the restaurant for 1 barman and 2 waiters. I can't say they were overloaded... So, dear manager, denying the reality is not an option. You should be able to do better, or change for another job. At least, make sure your people spend more time doing their job and less time chatting...
Read moreMe and my good friend ventured to try Capo Capo last night while Restaurant Week was going on (we tend to try new places during that time so we know what flavors are worth going back for later!). We came in, and were pleasantly content with the ambiance as it was a Sunday evening and we chose to sit in the corridor in between the outside seating area and the inside seating area. There was a lovely breeze after the hostess opened the windows and it was great. After our brief interaction with the hostess, who sat us, told us our waitress would be coming, came back to grab an order for our drinks and the waitress STILL hadn't come, and THEN brought back the drinks, she (the hostess) was super nice by the way- everything went downhill.
I ordered the meatball appetizer (half of the reason for the one star) and my friend ordered the shrimp tempura and we loved them! Then came dinner...I've never had a sweet carbonara in my life...I pray this is the last time I will. We were both served the scallop carbonara and the scallops which were cooked nicely, had a gritty texture and weird taste on top of the SWEET carbonara. It was off putting. I have to say I usually love a carbonara; I'd just had an amazing one at Codex the week prior and a pretty decent one from Olive Garden last month. That's a problem for me if Olive Garden is better than this high end restaurant on Main Street. For dessert, she had the tiramisu and I had the BRICK of s'mores bread pudding. Would not recommend. Our waitress was inattentive and unenthused and we felt like a bother asking for boxes and drink refills. Do not come here, the other poor reviews were not exaggerating. I do not have any pictures as I did not feel inspired by any of the dishes to take any.
Service outside of the hostess: ABYSMAL Food: Lackluster, uninspiring, not particularly tasty
Go some where else. I'm sorry we wasted our time...
