Had a wonderful night spent with mt sister.
It was an old home renovated into this intimate dining experience and also is a bed and breakfast!
Happy would be an understatement, since having gone through my health journey, finding restaurants that actually care and cater to food allergies, are slim to none.
Recently going vegan, I'm still learning a lot. But to have enjoyed a place that didn't have only 1 option, being a salad, for me that was GF AND vegan, made me a little emotional. 🥺
For one is used to traditional fast restaurant food, one may think this menu is small, however, to the GF and Vegan community this is huge! So many incredible options of well thought out intentional menu, showcasing traditional Turkish cuisine. 😋
The guest experience was absolutely phenomenal, all the knowledge and attentiveness was outstanding from Jason and all of the staff. Watching this business develope on IG they thought everything through, from the color scheme/decor, wherever a guest sits inside its esthetically pleasing and inviting. They're locally sourcing their bathroom products from "go less than," to regenerative produce and treats, wines without toxins, to adding on a wheelchair accessible ramp to their building. 🥰 All these small things mean so much to me.
It felt so fulfilling, having such an amazing experience while supporting local...
Read moreI loved the atmosphere, service and people were fantastic. They give you an excellent experience and personal attention. They will be happy to take the time to find the right wine and help you pare it with the food. One of the limitations of the place is the menu. It is Vegan/Vegetarian and limited to appetizers with nuts, cheeses and bread. While these are very enjoyable, this is not a dinner place but maybe a place to sit relax and drink some wine. Since I am partial to red wines, I like hardier fare such as a charcuterie board. And when I drink wine, I like more substantive food. Thought they have excellent wine for my taste, but I still like a greater variety of wine. Both red selections where on the lighter side but that might be a seasonal thing and I did enjoy both. Being open only three days a week probably contributes to the selection of wine and the availability of menu items. Definitely will be back to try other wines and to see if the fall and winter bring heartier wine and fare. If you do go, I am sure that they will find a wine that...
Read moreI have no idea what I just paid so much for... Really wanted to like this place as the vibe is very cutesy and quaint...but after coming for "brunch" with some friends, we each walked away with a very big bill and added 22% gratuity (posttax I might add), and empty bellies.
The Turkish "breakfast" cost us $25 each, with tiny glasses of wine for $14 a piece and each of us essentially got a few tomatoes and cucumber slices, two tiny pieces of cheese, 1-2 walnuts, one dried apricot each, and a single egg and pita! Yes there was bread, and thank goodness because otherwise the ants all over the tables could have said they ate more than we did.
I say breakfast/brunch in quotes because "tapas" style lately is a way for places to basically claim they feed you while providing very little/low quality food and for crazy prices. I'm honestly not sure I could've been more disappointed and I can't understand all the good reviews unless they just skimped on us because we were 6 people?
The server was lovely and friendly but that's about the only thing worth...
