My Colley Cantina experience this evening was just horrible in comparison to my first visit a few months back. ( On a Thursday night during karaoke which was a much busier day, but I still had exceptional service compared to today, a Sunday at 3pm with maybe 8 heads in the Resturant)
We sat at a table near the bar. I grabbed my own menu because no one came over to greet us. Finally Althea, curly red head waitress, comes over and takes our drinks. She takes over 10 minutes to bring my friend a coke, and forgets my water. Comes back 15 minutes later and finally takes the burrito order and I ordered a frozen margarita. Burrito comes out, no sour cream. The margarita comes out and it tastes extremely salty. She goes to the machine to taste it for herself, and then comes back to say that’s how the mix just is. I give it back because obviously I don’t want a salty margarita. She rolls her eyes and then takes the glass back ☹️ (still have no water, never asked did I want something else to drink, so I’m drink less for the entire visit) Comes back 10 minutes later to check in, I ask for sour cream, she states it’ll be 79 cents, I asked why if the burrito comes with sour cream. She finally realized she neglected the sour cream in the first place. 10 minutes later she comes back with the sour cream (burrito is cold at this point) I then ask for the check. She asks my friend does he want a refill, comes back 10 minutes later with a cup of ice with maybe a splash of coke in it and no check (It’s like she added in more ice to put the least amount of soda in the glass as possible)
The whole time I’m sitting facing out of the window, it finally dawned on me to turn around and see where she disappears to for so long. I turn around to see her talking junk and laughing with two black ladies in the back kitchen area and the short black guy working the bar. I’m literally watching her talk junk to them for over 5 minutes while waiting for the check I asked for when I asked for the sour cream.... eventually I get the check, debit card in my hand, but she drops the check book off and leaves for another 5 minutes. Comes back for the book and finally runs the card. That last time she returned so that I could sign my receipt was the fastest time she came back to our table during our entire visit.
I’m not sure why there was such an attitude and lack of service during such a slow time at the restaurant, today was a complete 360 from my first visit. You guys have awesome guacamole! Don’t know what went wrong today but not sure...
Read moreI ordered nachos and asked for chicken. Before I ordered it, I asked the waitress if it had enough toppings on it. She said it really depends on who’s in the kitchen. I literally had 4 chips with something on it, and my son had like 3. There was hardly any chicken whatsoever on there, and mostly was lettuce. It just lacked ingredients period. I felt like I could’ve got better nachos at 7-11 because at least with 7-Eleven they have a condiment bar where you can spoon out fresh tomatoes, onions, and other things, and can even put as much cheese and chili that you want. I asked the waitress for extra queso and was brought this very small little tiny thing of cheese that looks like it should have been a standard issue with the nachos to begin with so it left me wondering if that was extra than I hate to see what I would have been given if I had not asked for extra queso. I told the waitress that I did not know if that would be enough to fill us up or not and that I may be ordering something else since she took the menus. I never could really look at the menus after that which I understand is pretty customary, however, she never came back to ask us, if we wanted something else or how our our nachos were until my son, had to go look for her and ask her to come to the table. I seriously considered ordering some thing else because the nachos were extremely unsatisfying and lacking but then I realized, why would I order more food and pay more money money and only get literally a tablespoon or two of ingredients? I decided that I would probably only be more irritated if I ordered more food because clearly they are trying to get you to fill up on the cheap ingredients like chips and not give you any actual substantial amount of ingredients. Years ago, I went there and had a great taco salad that was huge and I didn’t even see that on the menu however, it seems like their practices have changed from 10 years ago. I left feeling very hungry still and irritated about their obvious lack of care for their food preparation. When I go to a restaurant that has a sit down restaurant rather than Taco Bell I expect it will be a better experience than Taco Bell, and this experience was definitely...
Read moreThe waitress brought our food. Had a question about the new menu. Asked why the cilantro fries didn't have the seasoning. She went and asked bar keep and cook. Came back with an explanation, but had taken my fries with her behind the counter. My experience says that you should not eat food taken back behind counter just in case they do something odd with your food. The waitress was upset I asked for new fries and took it as a personal assault on her Character and told the bar keep and cook why my fries were back for a second time. 30-1 minute later my fries were back. I used to manage multiple restaurants and have experience in food business retaliation/shortcuts from employees to disliked customers. I realized they were talking behind my back and that my fries if fresh should have taken 3 mins or longer. So used the top of my hand to feel temperatures. The fries were room temp. They slide my fries into a new basket and reserved me despite my request. I asked for them to he made fresh. The waitress protested by asking, "why, these are fresh?" I said they are not and would like them to be fresh. She took them in and was still polite to me. But I heard them talking about me in frustration and the cook was mean grilling me when I turned around. I over heard a Parton ask the bar keep to hold his earrings , "just in case" and then nodded in my direction. The bar keep laughed and looked at me and then the patron turned to face me. My gf told me to turn around to prevent a confrontation. It was trivia night and the team that patron was on, changed their names to, "I need my fries, because I'm a yuppy." I didn't get to eat any of my food and paid the bill without a tip and quickly left. My girlfriend told me after she got out that the patron in question said it was good that I left else he was gonna have to take care of me. So...I was retaliated against by the employees for requesting fresh fries, I was made into a joke for the entire establishment. Was mistreated by the staff. And the patron was no discouraged from attempting to harm me by any of the staff members. I hate this...
