I'd heard a lot of hype about this place and was excited to try it out. For starts, this is Tex-Mex, not authentic Mexican (queso on everything is NOT authentic).
The menu is current online only and the site is not formatted for cell use, which was quite an annoyance. The items are missing the full description (which can also be viewed via the online ordering option, but also cuts the description short). It's a bit loud in the restaurant (not necessarily a problem) but apparently my server couldn't hear me as that was the reason both times I ordered were incorrect. I ordered vegetarian nachos and a bean burrito. I received vegetarian tacos and a vegetarian burrito (at least there wasn't meat) but both options were more expensive than the items I ordered.
Let's talk about the burrito - the flour tortilla was very thick, and undersized for wrapping. When I picked up the burrito, it was dripping wet to the point I couldn't eat it like a burrito, but opened it and ate the filling with a fork. I understand that veggies are moist, so it would make sense to add rice and or beans to soak up excess liquid and make the burrito edible in the fashion of a burrito. There was a layer of cheese toasted onto the inside that gave nice flavor (but again, not authentic). My burrito was served beside a bed of shredded lettuce and dollop of fresh guacamole.
While I ordered nachos, I received tacos. I can say, I did not eat them or really check them out. In lieu of wasting food (which I hate to do) I asked my server to box them up. As someone concerned about the future of our planet, I was disappointed to have my food boxed in styrofoam.
Despite receiving the incorrect food, I was most disappointed in being charged for the more expensive items which were not what I ordered.
I would be willing to give this place another shot, although I don't feel the food is up to par, but the drinks and beverages would be great...
Read moreNormally, we have a decent experience at Jessy’s on Oceanview. However, tonight I decided to call in an order for the first time for pick up. I wanted to go to a different place, but my wife wanted to eat at home but wanted margaritas. We chose the closest place to home. I ordered shrimp tacos, asada fries, and 2 house margaritas to go. The lady asked what sides I wanted with the tacos and then took my payment. I arrived to pick up the order and after a few minutes they brought the food. I reminded them of the drinks. The young lady asked a gentleman to make the drinks. After 5 minutes of my food getting cold, they came to me and asked if I ordered drinks. I told them that they were supposed to be making them at the moment and I repeated my phone order to the girl. She walked over to the lady that took the phone orders who promptly walked to me and stated that I had not ordered drinks and that if I wanted drinks I needed to get rung up for them. Folks, the customer is not always right; however there is an appropriate way to approach a customer and blaming them for your mistake is not the way to do it. After some back and forth, and I admit that while I was cordial but not polite, I gave my card to the other young lady to pay for the drinks. This was never about not paying for the drinks. I obviously wanted the drinks with the food, but now the problem was the food was cold as it had been sitting with me now for several minutes, the asada fries were soggy as well by the time I got them home to eat. And top it off the margaritas tasted like the mix was old and stale. The only person to apologize for the way the lady spoke to me was the young girl. I appreciated that.
I hope we have a better experience in the future, but customer service is paramount and tonight the customer service wasn’t there and that sacrificed the experience as well as the food quality. The drinks...

Went in at 1:30 on a Saturday to a full dining room and a half full patio. We were not acknowledged at the hostess stand despite staff walking past us constantly for about 10 minutes. Lots of staff milling around, but couldn’t figure out what most of them were doing. Finally a woman who appeared to be a waitress noticed us and helped get us seated on the patio. We ordered on our first interaction with our waitress, ahead of two other nearby parties. We ordered huevos rancheros and a few standard tacos and a house margarita. The water my wife asked for took a little while and we finished our chips and got my margarita before she got water. The margarita seemed watery (very minimal tequila flavor and almost no color). The food took 30-45 minutes to arrive. Still lots of workers milling around inside, and a guy came by to ask if we needed more drinks multiple times, but no mention of our food. All the other nearby tables received food 5 minutes or so before us. In the end the food was authentic, but wasn’t super special, their handmade corn tortillas were good, but my huevos rancheros was literally two eggs on tortillas with some green sauce and a side of beans, my wife’s tacos were just ok not very hot or tasty (meat lacked flavor). When our check arrived I was charged $24 for two “double” house margaritas. I talked with the server and said our previous waitress must have gotten the drinks mixed up with another table. When he came back, the margarita still said “double” at $12 ($10 per the menu). I told him that it wasn’t a double and he pointed to the glass and said “that’s our double size, sorry, the last waitress left.” I won’t go back here or recommend this place to anyone. Looks like they’ve gone downhill since...
