Maymar — Restaurant in Norfolk

I haven’t been here in almost 5 years when they were very racist to my daughter and I! Back then we waited our place in line! Once it was my turn, the lady server asked me what I wanted! Right in the middle of me telling her, a Philippine man walked in! She laid the Styrofoam to the side and pointed to the other server behind her, doing something else! Telling me she would serve me! My daughter was next in line to me! Instead she asked the Philippine man who had just walked in after us what he wanted! Just by passed us to fully serve him! I left and hadn’t been back until today! I believe in giving people another chance! Today the servers were VERY very polite, attentive and served all of us in the order we were in! I requested to place a catered order for an upcoming event! I was directed to a man sitting down in a red shirt! I tried to talk to him about it but he held his hand up! For me to wait as he made a phone call in front of me! I sat down right in front of him to wait! He got off of that call and made another call while I waited! I could understand if I interrupted him during an on going call! Which I have manners and would have sat to wait before addressing him! He made me wait while he placed two calls! I told him about what I was trying to order! He told me they are booked! Which I understood due to it being Graduation weekend as he stated! I was about to leave but he asked me how much I needed! I told him and he proceeded to say what he already told me! That they are booked! Why tell me he couldn’t, then call me back asking the amount I needed? To tell me he is booked again? I really felt like he was thinking about doing it but changed his mind! For whatever reason! Like I said, it’s been 5 years since trying them again. I will never go back! It seems like they pick and choose who to deal with, who not to and when! When I shared my experience 5 years ago I was told by a family member who is a regular customer! That the mother and father are very nice and that it wouldn’t happen if they are there! I don’t know them and this was five years ago! I do know they must be nice people to have my cousin as a regular customer! She is very picky about people and her food😂! On July 20,2019 I went to Maymar to pick up 4 dishes of food for $300 I order in June 2019 I gave them a deposit of $100 on the day in question when I got there they didn't have the food ready I watch them give other customers their dishes ahead of me I sat there patiently waiting for my order for over 30-45mins They cheated me out of 6 lumpia pretty much the whole order they gave me 3 dishes they where arguing fusing it was a mess the the old lady didn't want to give any sauces I paid the other $209 and left I realized I only had three dishes and went back when I called back the owner brother started call me name he call me stupid after they cheated me out of a $60 dishes I had to make a threat that I would call the police to get the dish they was very rude to me he wouldn't apologize bragged and said I don't need your business he did this in front of his children and other customers I was so hurt and humiliated I didn't want the food after they act so ugly but I had 100 guest to feed to public people like that don't deserve a business I never said one ugly thing to them he bragged I have 1000 customers business I don't need your business after I gave them $300 the world we living in support people like that who don't care nothing about us it's really sad I will never go there anymore the bible say pray those who...

We ordered three meals (3 entree x2; 2 entree x1) via GrubHub. When the driver arrived to pick up our order, they told him to call and tell us we had to pay extra for every piece of lumpia on the orders, as it was not included in the package price. They wanted $0.16 extra for every piece of lumpia, so an extra $3.00 per order ($9.00 total). The lumpia was advertised as included just like any other entree selection on the menu. I tried to contact Maymar directly, but I could not get them to answer the phone. GrubHub contacted them, and they were unwilling to send us our food without the extra, unadvertised, cost; GrubHub had to cancel the order. The good news is that we will get our $37.00 back in a few days. Thanks for the false advertising and crummy customer service. We will NEVER order from here again. I highly recommend everyone...
