As a Matter of fact, all the food served is famously delicious!!! from their fried chicken, pork chop dinners, barbque pork & their delicious puffs are also delicious when honey is applied.

Your stomach will be thanking you for this treat to your palate!!! The staff is exceptional friendly & after your order is received, they will serve you at whatever table you sit at! . THE STAFF goes to great lengths to make the customer feel welcome & comfortable while they work their magic on whatever you ordered!!!

I might also add, the food they serve to their customers is by no means a small meal but rather a large meal. You will be full after eating & you will definitely get your money's worth!!!

Be it a chicken liver dinner or a gizzard dinner or mixed with both of these 2 orders, they are delicious as soul food goes, from their chicken orders popping hot,to their pork chops, barbecue & you have to try their corn muffins And their puffs with honey.

I’ve given pollard 1 star in the past because of poor customer service. Honestly customer service as a whole had taken a huge hit all over. We’ve lost sight of how to be kind, have empathy and take care of each other. It this experience with pollard has really given me joy. I went in ans was greeted immediately as well as the environment had great energy and the employees were smiling and speaking with customers as if they were friends. My order took a while to come up and I asked for an eta. The cashier checked the stand and saw it was sitting there the whole time. She immediately apologized and assumed responsibility as well as offered me a free dessert. I told her no worries it’s a lot going on but could I have my food reheated. She told me that she will get me fresh chicken and throw an extra piece in for the inconvenience. Unfortunately I got home and the puff was in the bag either. Buttttt.... Honestly it was worth the wait due to the High energy/positive environment and seeing how courteous and genuinely kind the 2 cashiers were. Based on this experience I’ll definitely come back! Tuesday evening 2/13/18 my was in Portsmouth and stopped for a dinner at Pollards Chicken on George Washington Hwy. After he finished his meal he sat quietly in the dining room watching tv (not bothering a soul and minding his own business) and the white woman who owns that location sent her black employee over to him and told him he needed to leave. The reason was because he was making the owner UNCOMFORTABLE! He got up and left. A little later when we spoke he told me what happened and needless to say I was furious to hear this. I called the restaurant and got a young black girl on the phone, she acknowledged everything he said had happened and explained that the reason he was told to leave was because a store down the street had an incident with a black man a few nights ago. Needless to say I told her how wrong that was and reminded her that was racial discrimination against him and I promised that I would make everyone one in that area know about how they treat their BLACK...
