Sharkeys — Restaurant in Normal

Our favorite thing to eat is a good philly cheese steak sandwich- we have had many of them over the years, and we are fairly picky about them. We have been waiting for a restaurant to open up in Blono for several years now that makes them the way we like them ever since the previous restaurant that made our favorites closed. We saw Sharkey's just opened- never had them before neither here nor their Peoria location, so we decided to give them a try. Verdict: their philly's are EXCELLENT. The best we have had in Blono in a LONG time, and you can't beat the price (especially in comparison to other establishments in town who charge nearly double the price for theirs that are chewy, dry, and flavorless). In addition to that- their fries are great and their fried walleye is also the best we've had around here in a long time as well. Definitely reccommend you give them a try. My significant other and I will definitely be ordering here often.

We ordered ours through DoorDash so cannot speak on the restaurant atmosphere or the in-person service. I will say that I see a lot of early reviews complaining about wait time- and to that I say 1. They literally just opened, show them some grace as they get in the groove of things here and 2. Even if the wait time is longer, it is worth it for food that is cooked fresh and served hot. I'd rather have that than quick service of food that was cooked an hour prior and kept warm under a heat lamp. Definitely reccommend you...

Customer service is basically non existent.

When calling to place a pick up order, I've been hung up on more times than I've actually eaten here. When you go in person there's a line out the door and a dining room full of hungry people waiting for their food for 30+ minutes. The building doesn't look particularly clean, well put together or inviting, but what they genuinely do have?

Is good food.

One of the biggest portion sizes I've ever seen in this town at somewhat reasonable prices. The flavor is so good that even the leftovers at work the next day is something to look forward to!

Sharkeys leaves alot to be desired, and unless they get a real, reliable phone system and someone proficient at customer service to answer it? I doubt people are going to like driving across town to pick up orders that were never placed (delicious or not)...

I ordered a variety of items that included catfish, fries, shrimp, burger, chicken, and Italian beef. I think they have something going with the chicken it was very good, I did ask for extra lemon pepper which I could tell they didn’t even really add a little but no big deal. The chicken was cooked well, nice, crispy, and juicy. The fish was alright nothing I would purchase again, my biggest complaint about the catfish was that it didn’t look or taste like catfish, it tastes like another type of fish but not catfish.
