I was torn between a 3 and a 4 went with the 4 because the beers are great and the place and space are awesome. It's dog friendly too, which is always a plus!.... But the staff behind the counter were kind of rude and surely unhelpful. It was my 1st time there and when you walk in the main door it's not easy to see there is a sign to order drinks at another end of the bar. So I stood by the bar for about 5-7mins making eye contact with the girls behind the counter while they served ppl seated at the bar. Eventually, I asked to order a drink (I'm sure they saw me there a bit, I made eye contact with a couple of them and didn't move at all but I was trying to wait patiently), and they were a bit rude and said they'd love to help me if I just go wait in line. So not huge thing but also when I did go in line just they were just a bit pushy/unfriendly. Anyway great place, I'd go back bc the beers are good, setup is nice. I would definitely recommend to others, I just hope the service is a bit friendly/better next time. For management also, just a little more clear sign maybe when you walk in the main door that you order to the left end of the bar would be helpful bc from that angle you can't see it at all (or i missed it if you had an additional sign). Or proactively ask your staff to just give ppl the heads up if the see them waiting a while at a counter (that appears like you would order there)! Oh the food truck Lumbrada...
Read moreTried Von C for a double date this past Thursday, May 9th. We went for trivia and we’re able to grab food from the on site food truck. Love the uniqueness of bringing other small businesses into the establishment.
I’ll be honest I’m a bit disappointed with the policy/lack of care for the customers on site especially when dogs are allowed on site and it starts to interfere with customers’ experience. I sat next to a customer who had a dog that urinated on the floor directly underneath our table/my chair. The dog was constantly jumping up on my partner, myself and others within distance of their table. Specifically, when we had food we were trying to eat. The owner of the dog ignored the urine and acted as if it wasn’t his to clean up. I informed one bartender of the mess and asked nicely if they could speak with him to clean it up. I was ignored and nothing was done. I approached another bartender roughly 20-30 minutes later and was spoken to with attitude as it was my fault/my dog? It was left like that for over an hour and no one did anything. I don’t think a customer should be scolded for doing the right thing and asking for it to be cleaned up. Specifically, the fact that the establishment can be sued if someone slips in it. (Stated this several times when I asked...
Read moreI have been wanting to visit Von C brewery for a year now. I came across them locally a year ago as a draft beer of walking on clouds. One of my favs! This morning I called to confirm they filled growlers. They did not tell me that it was double the price to fill a growler. Today, as I went to pay for my growler they proceeded to charge me $36 for a growler (64 oz.). I was flabbergasted. I have never paid more than $16-$17 for a growler of that size. To charge double seemed extreme. After asking to talk to the manager, I learned that they push cans and that a growler is essentially double a crowler in their mind. For the record a 4 pack of what I filled was $17. Here they are trying to charge double for the growler. Again, before filling they did not tell me it was double in price. The manager explained they try to deter filling growlers as they lose money this way and they prefer buying their canned beer. I felt demoralized. They made me feel like I was ignorant asking about the double the charge. What happened to wanting the fresh beer? forewarned…do not buy a growler from Von C! We will be back. We love the beer. But, never again for a...
