Thieves thieves thieves.. I made an order of their $1.25 tacos for my son on Taco Tuesday. I never ate anything from this place because they be been told how disgusting and dirty they are. All their 1.25 tacos were only pork so I decided to order a chicken sandwich for myself. The person on the phone immediately said very rude “I don’t recommend you get that because instead of 10 mins it will be an hour” so I decided to just order the tacos for my son and ordered the sandwich “Torta” from fajitas right up the street. A place I know and their food is delicious and the place is clean. When I picked up my order I decided to get 3 small sodas. I handed her cash and after she gave me the change I realized the order was almost 60 dollars. She said because of tax the tacos aren’t really $1.25 which I understand . Still confuse I asked for a receipt and she charge me 5 dollars for each small soda. I proceeded to tell her I didn’t want the sodas anymore and she refused to return my money. Outrageous that a small soda can cost 5 dollars. I paid 15 dollars for 3 small drinks. I then went to pick up my sandwich from fajitas and asked the nice lady at the counter how much the same drinks were, and they were $2.50 which is more reasonable. It’s sad that this place attracts the young kids on Tuesday for their disgusting $1.25 tacos- but whoever owns this business needs to really take a look at what’s happening with this rude girl because she’s definitely stealing. And if that’s not the case then they need to rethink their drink prices. Never again will I order from this place. Now I know why is not recommended , go down the block at fajitas better food, better staff, and they don’t steal. Yes their tacos are $1.25 but you pay full price for it when you...
Read moreI was surprised to see all of these great reviews after the stunt that this establishment placed on my husband and ON HIS BIRTHDAY. He'd been raving about this place that he wanted to try which offered a party platter of tacos and burritos for 30 bucks. He thought the platter would be perfect for us having some family over for his birthday... Seemed too good to be true, and that it was.
Fast forward to him calling before he went to ensure that they were open and had the platter, the girl tells him yes. He proceeds to take the ride with his mother to place the order and pick up. He was baffled when the same girl that he just spoke to tells him that they don't have any more. He mentions that he just spoke with her (we only live minutes away)... and she said that she called him back to tell him... no missed call at all. It wasn't that they didn't have any food.. he said that it was the nonchalant, unbothered manner in which she says this...
To say that he was disappointed is an understatement... imagine your mouth watering for Mexican on your birthday and you end up with...
Read moreDowntown New Brunswick is an epicenter of Mexican and Central American cuisine. But, a little off the beaten path, right past the border into New Brunswick, but still within selling distance of the Rutgers campus, you'll find this intimate, authentic, family-run Mexican restaurant.
Let's talk about "authentic" ... probably the most over-used word in ethnic food reviews. Allow me to deploy the nuclear weapon of authentic-ness. This place has fried cactus as an appetizer. THE END CASE CLOSED!
Seating is very intimate, don't come here with a large group. The meals are fresh and made to order with a small staff. Everything is well seasoned, and served with a...
