This is one of my parents’ favorite places, and the pizza I had I thought was delicious… the stuffed crust pizza - yum …BUT the service was so disappointing my husband never wants to go back. We ordered at 6:50 pm and were asked if an hour wait was fine. Yes - an hour was fine; we understood we would need to wait & an hour is reasonable … I guess. The problem was when we came back to check on our pizza an hour later, an employee told us it was in the oven. This turned out to be a lie. We continued to wait and after over 30 additional minutes we asked again and were told again that “they just put it in the oven.” My husband asked for a refund and ti cancel the order at that point. The employee up front went to the back to ask to cancel it. I didn’t hear everything they said but I heard someone say well I guess they aren’t willing to wait 10 minutes. She came back up front and said her manager said that they can’t cancel it since it is in the oven. We asked to speak to the manager and after a few minutes were told the manager is busy making pizza … so no refund, no speaking to the manager … just keep waiting or leave with no pizza and no refund. It really was just about 10 more minutes after that … but almost 2 hours after we placed the order. Honestly that could have been ok IF they communicated more clearly up front that the wait would be closer to 2 hours - and more importantly… don’t tell us the pizza is in the oven if it’s not in the oven. If they told us after the first hour that they hadn’t started our pizza yet we could have canceled, but by lying they took away...
Read moreI’m picky.. I mean, I really complain often. Rarely do I find pizza so delicious I just can’t wait to eat more of it. I’ve traveled for years for my job and ate pizza fairly often enough to know, don’t bother trying random pizza. Go with what you know and order a bacon, mushroom and onion with white sauce from a well known chain. However, on a 7 day trip to Buxton, that all changed!! We ate at Angelo’s every single day of our trip. I kept ordering small pizzas, you know in case it was gross like I just knew it would be! We tried a different one each night, and even tossed in a few subs for variety. Italian sub? I’m obsessed with them, and again don’t forget I am picky. Angelos, has amazing specialty pizza’s and their Italian sub is yummy and affordable!!! My boyfriend had the Philly sub tonight and said it was good. I asked for mayo and didn’t see any on it, but I ordered their hands down best ranch ever so we could use that if needed. I’m not a Philly sub fan, because you know… I’m picky. :) Tonight I didn’t eat it because I was so full from the Buffalo Chicken pizza. I am NOT a buffalo chicken fan, but I just had to try it.. Delicious!!!! It may be the best one of all. We did not dine in, but picked up and delivery. All staff was friendly, and speedy!
YUM!! I know you are down here in the land of seafood, but please just try the pizza. I swore I would not come here and eat non-seafood meals. But, Angelo’s changed that for me!!!!!! I’m a huge fan.. I spent more at Angelo’s than I did on my hotel room this week.. To be fair, I did get free nights using an app…...
Read moreWe stopped in for lunch and the kids had a great time. You order at the front counter and they bring your food out once ready. Lots to choose from mostly Italian staples, but they also had a bunch of sandwiches you could choose. I got a small pizza for the kids, 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni and I got the flounder sandwich. Sandwiches didn't come with any sides, so I got a order of onion rings. They have a small room with about 5-6 tables then once you enter the arcade section they have some bigger high tops in there too. One thing I did like was they had both a Coke and Pepsi side to there sod dispenser. Nice touch, I know I'm more of a Coke guy, but my kids like some Pepsi stuff. I got $10 in quarters and divyed them up between the the two and let them go play. Not a hugh arcade, but a bowling game, pool table, air hockey, some claw games, pinball and few others. I stayed in the 1st area waiting for our food watch TV on the 2 they had in there. The young lady brought our food out, wasn't to long of a wait. The pizza was pretty standard, nice and greasy of you like it that way. My kids though it was good. My flounder was pretty good, lightly fried. Thought the bun was to big, it overcame the sandwiches, where you almost only tasted the bun, I pulled my fish off and ate it separate. The onion rings were really good. They had a few outside picnic tables and a little covered seating as well. There was also a ice cream stand as well. Would definitely come back, especially...
