Diamonds Grille & Billiards — Restaurant in North Carolina

Stopped in to get some wings, because a few of my passengers tried to convince me that they had some of the best wings in town..... guess what? They were absolutely correct! I had ordered the hot wings with ranch dipping sauce and they were good down to the bone! I was also told that their burgers are delicious as well and that during the afternoon you can get a $5 special so one day when I’m back in the area I will have to give it a try. The place itself is a pretty cool spot back up in the cut and you really would never know it’s there unless someone tells you about it or you drive through Big Lots parking lot. The first time I saw it, I thought it may have been a strip club.... lol.... they have quite a few small tables, the bar and pool tables. Nice...

This place has Duck Tape on the carpet seams to keep them together, the ceiling is missing ceiling tiles , the insulation is showing in places , the carpet by the big pool tables next to the wall is so bad your shoes stick to it , 1 ceiling tile and insulation is missing and you can see the ac duct work above the last big pool table by the bathroom area . They have 4 beer taps that foam constantly and they take frosty glasses out of the cooler for the beer. Stopped in here for a drink, and certainly received some looks as unfamiliar faces. There were plenty of people at the bar and playing pool. Waited a few minutes with no one behind the bar. A bartender came out, waited on a few people before acknowledging us, said she’d be right with us. She then took care of some more (what seems to be) regulars. Approached us and said, “Sorry guys, I’m working.” At that point we left; it was clear and deliberate that we weren’t to feel welcome. I suppose if you’re a regular, it’s a great place.
