We stayed at Wilmington KOA Holiday in Wilmington, NC from October 14 to 18. Getting There: The area is under construction and neither our Garmin, Google, or Ford GPS's could figure out the area. All three gave us wrong directions getting to the campground, finding local businesses, etc. The road the campground is on now has a median so you can't take a left out of the campground (which all GPS's kept telling us to do) and if you're trying to come in from the south it can be a bit tight, especially for bigger rigs. Customer Service/Checking In: Fantastic! Check in was pleasant, and they escort you to your site. Site #: 34 Level: Level for the most part, we just needed a single block on the driver side. Electric/Water/Sewer: Everything worked great. Noise Level: It is in a city setting so there's the expected noise that comes with that, but nothing terrible. Interior Roads: It's all one-ways and if you're in the back corner, there are no thru ways so it can be a long walk back to your site. But they're well-maintained and smooth for driving. Pet Experience: The fenced dog area is very nice and there are areas along the outer roads where dogs can sniff, pee, poop without being in people's sites. There are several poop stations throughout the park. Overall Pros: It's a very nice park with easy access to local conveniences. They have all day trash pickup which is a bonus. The store is well-stocked with essentials and swag. At the entrance is a self wash with bays big enough for RV's. Overall Cons: Some sites can be fairly close to the neighbors. We were in 34, which is in the turn and the corner of the neighbor's trailer was practically in our space. The neighbor didn't have enough space to park their truck in front of the trailer, so they parked it in the back which actually partially blocked entrance to our site. That said, sites 62/63 had a lot more space between neighbors. Would I return: Yes, but since space is our preference we'd pick a different...

This is our second time here, and we will continue to come back as long as the place stays this nice! Decent wifi (seems like it was better last year, but maybe more people are just using it now), great shade, excellent amenities, and the staff is on top of checkins and outs with escorts and cleaning. They have a wonderfully stocked store, and tons of staff available to assist at any time (during business hours). Lots of activities and super close to things to do in the Wilmington area, and all of the major cell carriers get great signal here. The trees did block our Starlink, so it did not perform very well here due to obstructions, but not all sites have this issue. On this trip, we only had 2 real concerns: The price. This is one of the most expensive places we are staying all year, and it is not THAT much nicer than some of the places we are staying. In fact, it's not even THE nicest place we plan to stay, it's just pricey. (more than double our average cost for a 2 week stay this year). 2. The dog park. We were super looking forward to coming back to their dog park after our visit last year. When we checked in, they were super proud that they "sprayed in" an all new surface. We were hoping for "track" or "turf" material that would be nice for our pups paws. When we went to check it out, we found large wood chips with the high potential of giving our dogs splinters. They would not even walk on it. The last time we were here, the dog park was always full of dogs, this time we barely saw anyone there. The few times I would see someone there, the dog would be sitting on the concrete patio with their owners to avoid the wood chips. It sucks that they spent money on this, but it was a downgrade of their previous grass, and it's clear by the change in usage by guests. We camped at Wilmington KOA Holiday in...

It was not a bad stay at all really, but my own cursing had complaints and I completely understand and I'm sorry for my language, but they did not tell me untell it was time to leave and two days prior to this the manager had messaged my mom and told her about it, I was never told till the last day and my mom sant me the message. I understand I was in the wrong and now I will stay sorry before a complaint comes to the place im at, but the workers had know about these complaints and I said the manager was a lier for saying she would contact me about it (she never did, nor her workers) and I've been coming to the club house every morning, so why they didn't tell me I don't know. But saying they tryed to contact me about this issue never even happened and and no effort was made, they wouldn't book me more nights (completely understandable) and just tell me to be on my way. But the manager will sure come to me about calling her a lier and not talk or resolve the issue. It's not nice calling people a lier(I understand that) but it's also not nice saying your going to do something and not do anything. But all and all very respectful workers, and nice camp ground to stay at. Thank you for letting me stay and no I don't review places really at all so it's not it made me mad but it upset me cause I didn't know but I should have cause of my actions and I'll take that lesson and learn from it. Oh and thank you for letting me finish drying my clothes before I check out. And the energy was very welcoming and I could start my letter (as big as a book) please do not get the wrong message out of this but just my experience and I did meet a new good friend so I would recommend for family, and for me no cursing at...

Summary: Impeccably well maintained and quiet. The staff was attentive and excellent. The free coffee each morning was a very nice perk. I would definitely stay here again. We visited the KOA Wilmington, NC for the last week of March ‘22. The entry is intelligently setup for new arrivals. Park in front and check in at the counter inside. When I arrived, there was no one else checking in, so it went quickly. If there were a sudden rush of three or more arrivals, parking and check in could be more of a challenge. The campground was relatively small, and noticeably quiet. If you enjoy people watching and festive activity, this campground is probably not your style. If you prefer fewer loud distractions, you’ll have a nice time at this location. The grounds were clean and the sites were spacious enough to accommodate large trailers. There were signs of new construction. We stayed at a super site. We liked the concrete pad. We used their patio furniture instead of our own. We used their grill almost every night. The WiFi was excellent! Three of us on YouTube, NetFlix, and so on – never had buffering problems. Not enough campgrounds have figured out what hotels got right decades ago. I sincerely wish more campgrounds had internet like KOA Wilmington. It was too cold to use the pool, but it looked clean. The pool was not terribly large, and during the summer months, I could see it being crowded. The outdoor activity areas looked like they would be fun for younger children. Our child is a teen, and wasn’t interested in the play areas. The daily rate was a bit on the high side, but I did not feel taken advantage of. We enjoyed our stay and the KOA Wilmington. I would recommend the campground to any of my friends.
