I’ve eaten here about five or six times. It’s okay, but definitely not the best spot for Japanese food. The rice is pretty plain, and they tend to be stingy with the meat—most of the plate is just vegetables. I wouldn’t recommend the shrimp or steak. Also, they sometimes forget to include the sauce, which they charge $1 for each. If you’re a local, I’d put it like this: it’s better than Shoto, but not as good as Fuji Moto.

This Kimono has pickup and delivery food mastered! They are so friendly and accommodating. We had spicy teriyaki chicken, California roll add cream cheese, funky roll and crab rangoon. The mustard sauce is so good and different. Their hibachi is the best around.

Paid 7.00 for 6 dumplings which is crazy. The chicken had good flavor but the steak was bland. They don’t include soup for the hibachi and I specifically said “no mushrooms”, but I received mushrooms. Decent food for the price.

This restaurant in Welcome used to be a nice place to eat in or take out. The past few times the customer service has been unacceptable! For one, if you place a to go order for a combo plate, they still charge you the full amount, but do not include the salad or soup! You have to pay extra!!!! Orders are ALWAYS WRONG, so check your food before driving off!!! Today was the final straw...I tried to place an online order, everything was well until I hit submit and it took me back to previous screen!! This is after I had entered credit card as well!! After 5-6 times trying to submit, I finally called them!! AS USUAL NO HELP, NO OFFER TO TAKE MY ORDER OVER THE PHONE, ONLY SAID, “OH, OUR SERVERS MUST BE DOWN, BECAUSE WE HAVEN’T HAD ANY ONLINE ORDERS IN AWHILE. CHECK BACK IN A LITTLE WHILE AND TRY AGAIN!!!” Even after explaining the situation, he still never offered to take my order!! LAST TIME FOR ME!! I’LL DRIVE A LITTLE FURTHER TO CHOP STIX IN WALLBURG FROM NOW ON!! BETTER FOOD, BETTER STAFF(ONES WHO USED TO WORK AT KIMONO), and ALL AROUND A DIFFERENT ATMOSPHERE!! THIS REVIEW IS WELL OVERDUE!! HOPEFULLY I WILL NOT SEE A CHARGE...

Don't order as take-out. We have been eating here since it originally opened but I think tonight was the final straw. As take-out, both my husband and I have noticed that they skimp on your serving size. Serving sizes inside have gotten consistently smaller since the new owners took over, too. They got my order wrong tonight and then argued with me about it when I called. They skipped the extra broccoli I requested and gave me the shrimp sauce in all the meals when I asked for black ginger in all the meals. That may seem like a small thing but when you choose to go several miles for food when the same kind can be had closer, a little tenseness when things go wrong on a regular (my last three take-out orders) should be expected. What I didn't expect was the attitude the woman adopted to deal with me. I was unhappy but not yelling or being abusive. She decided the best way to handle the situation was to simply deny anything was not as requested and suggest it was me being unreasonable. Cool beans. We've been eating there less often since the new owners took over. Not eating there at all won't...

Today marks the second time I have placed an order through UberEats to pick up at Kimonos and it wasn’t ready anywhere near the estimated time. We love their food, especially the wonton delight.

However, it is frustrating to place an order, drive up a few minutes after the app has said that the food was ready, and sit for an additional 10+ minutes while being told that “they have just put the food on the grill” or “it will just be a few more minutes”.

Oddly enough, today we were told it was being put on the grill, then, several minutes later, asked for the name of the order again and what service we used. I’m not sure if this is an app issue, a service/staffing issue, or something else, but repeated issues like this makes me debate...
