New China — Restaurant in Lexington

Update/Edit: After more than a year later and New China is still knocking it out the park for myself and my family! EVERY TIME Y’ALL! At least every other time she reminds me of one or two things that I forget to order when I call in. They have been wonderful and if you have one bad experience here, I suggest giving it another try. If you have more than one bad experience then my bet is the problem isn’t with their service or food… The problem is more than likely that you’re the problem. Lol Old review 👇🏼

This place is awesome! My order is always correct, always fresh and always delicious! I have been ordering from here for about 2 months now, at least once a week, and have never had any issues at all. The lady who always takes my order is so nice and friendly. (You may not be able to “hear her smile” over the phone but she really is great) After ordering from them twice she had my order memorized (an order for 4 people!)

I had read some reviews on here and it took a year of living in the area before we tried New China and I can’t say how many times I have kicked myself for not trying it sooner.

Beware ! The customer service is horrible here. Me and my father walked in to get lunch quite and politely. From the beginning they just starred at us. no greeting just a rude stare like we had already done something wrong by just walking in. We ignored that, ordered our food with the lady at the register who was extremely rude. Talking to us like we’re idiots, super un pleasant. We ignored that to because I understand work can be hard. We get our food ( we ordered 2 separate plates) and I go to ask for hot sauce to go. She tell me to open my tray, trying to put the hot sauce on my food her self. I politely ask if she has any to go saucers instead. She gives me one. obviously me and my father can’t share a small cup of hot sauce so I politely ask for a second And she Rudely demands 1 dollar for it. A tiny little cup for 1 dollar. Ordering 2 shrimp plates at this establishment isn’t enough to get you at least 2 hot sauces. please guys take your money else where. Called to order food and the lady acted very put out and extremely annoyed to have to do her job. If it wasn't on my way home, I would've said nevermind and gone somewhere else just based on that interaction. I had to repeat myself 6 times because of the language barrier. Food was hot and ready in the time she said. I ordered scallion chicken which is typically crispy (why I order it), but this was very mushy. White rice and egg roll were great. Prices are always much higher than what the menu says. I'm pretty sure she charged me for a full order (and then some) when I asked for and received a lunch order. Will keep going to Panda Panda rather than giving this place another shot. They're friendly, fast, have good food and reasonable prices. I don't like feeling like I'm causing someone a problem by asking them to do their job, food was subpar, and I could eat somewhere much nicer for...
