For a year, I wanted to try this place. And I finally did in September 2025. I almost hate to write this review because I really do support local places in the Outer Banks. Maybe it was just a bad day. But I spent $16.00 on a small container of vinegar coleslaw (not good) and small container of loaded potato potato salad and a quarter pound of ham. The ham was delicious. I must say, it almost was like fresh ham cut to order. But the vinegar coleslaw was horrible. All you tasted was this bitterness, and a horseradish taste. Not to mention the color was off putting and everyone who tasted it at the house did not like it. The potato salad had this weird color as well to the potatoes. They were gray. And had way too much sour cream. The look of the potatoes were unappetizing, and they were hard and cut weirdly and no one liked them as well. It was very odd when I first walked in. Oddly quiet and weird. But the girl who greeted me was very nice. They do have a wine tasting. And I think small plate tasting on a Thursday night, which is rather expensive. Especially for people on a budget, but they seem to draw the crowd. Maybe I just caught them on an off week and I will give them another shot next time I visit. Please consider this review as constructive criticism. Because I want you to be around year after year. I am always willing to give it a second try. By the way, they have a cute little bar in the corner that serves wine and beer, which I will also try next time when I have more time to hang out. To be honest, if I had the energy, I would have brought the salads back and got a refund. That's how much we all did not like them. But we were just too tired to go back. Due to the niceness of the staff, the cleanliness of the place and the tasty ham, although I did not like the salads which I really went there for, I will always try it again. As someone who is way too busy to sometimes even make sandwiches on vacation, I love to have a deli nearby so I don't want my review to discourage you but maybe also encourage you to try it and see what you think.

Pamlico Deli is a food destination we frequent mulitiple times when visiting OBX! 🌊 Whether you pack a sanwhich in the cooler for a day at the beach or enjoy a relaxing lunch on their spacious porch (dog friendlyđŸ¶), you can't go wrong. Their extensive menu of fresh made to order sandwhichs, sides and deserts will leave you more than satisfied. A personal favorite: the Caprese with their HANDMADE Mozzarella, ripe tomato, pesto and balsamlic on a soft Italian sub rollđŸ€€ His favorite: the Rt. 12- Sliced turkey, peperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers with a deliciously tangy roasted red pepper aloi. The Pamlico Deli team is an inviting group, making travlers feel like locals. 💓 A highly suggested add to your food map while enjoying Hatteras. As always, we will be back!

I reserved a table here for a group wine tasting for a bachelorette. We all had an absolutely fantastic experience that exceeded our expectations. I was able to set up to have charcuterie with a selection of wines that Nick helped me decide, taking into account the bride’s preferred wines. Nick is a sommelier, and his knowledge and expertise shined through. The wines he selected were all great and the charcuterie selection was tasty. It was also very reasonably priced, and Nick gave us the name of a name driving service so we could coordinate inexpensive and safe travel for the tasting. The table was even set up so nicely with a special VIP sign that made our group feel special. I highly recommend Nick and the Deli for wine tastings or a group experience!

Stopped here a half hour before our equine adventures ride 2 minutes away. Thought that would be enough time to grab a sandwich. There were only two other people inside. Ordered from a nice woman behind the counter from what looked like a nice menu, and waited
and waited. One call in order finally got picked up, then the other two in the place got served, and we waited. After about 20 mins, not a completely unreasonable time, but we started to feel like we might have misjudged and would run out of time. This is where it went bad. My wife explained we had someplace to be and politely asked the woman at the counter if she had an idea how much longer it would be. Again the woman was pleasant and said she thought there was only one order ahead of us. However, the man making sandwiches in the back heard this and lost his mind
shouted “it’ll be done when it’s done” and grumbled something else with a very hostile look directed at my wife. At which time I snapped back “hey, she didn’t tell you to hurry up, just how long it was going to be.” Again, he belligerently barked “I’m going as fast as I can” or words to that effect and waved his arms at us dismissively. Now I raised my voice a little and repeated that we hadn’t asked him to go faster or anything like that but wanted to simply know how long it would take. And then said to wife, let’s go. The nice woman tried to say something to get us to stay but the man waved his hand at us in a go motion. At this point I wouldn’t have eaten anything he made even it was ready that second. He was completely obnoxious and rude to my wife in a way I wouldn’t accept under any circumstance let alone to customers whose business you are supposed to appreciate. I feel for the woman who has to work with him and hope she doesn’t also live with him. What an a-hole. Don’t support this guy.

Reading your reply, you still don’t get it. We didn’t feel more important than anyone else and are sympathetic to the labor shortage and other troubles of small business which we like to support. The ONLY thing we wanted was to know if it was going to be a another few minutes, or another half hour, so that we could decide if we had time to wait or had made a mistake. There was not a problem until You got nasty
a polite response of any kind would have been accepted graciously but that was too much to ask. I stand by my...

Lets start with bread the bread was very dry it's not butter it was toasted some how wish it was put in a penny press there wasn't a lot of rye flavor. Now let's talk about the sour crought wish it was a bit Tanger. The cheese was good.
