What has usually been a very pleasant experience with a clean store and friendly staff went very poorly this evening. So much so that I ended up leaving without asking about the one thing I actually went in for. A staff member followed me around the store as I pondered the frozen foods and then the various ice cream freezers. A shorter gentleman who I did not immediately realize was a staff member was always nearby. When I noticed this, I became nervous but then he looked as though perhaps he was also just perusing the frozen foods so I tried to put it out of my head. When I finally decided to go up to cash out because he was making me so uneasy, he followed there and leaned on the counter to talk to the other staff members and that’s when I realized he was wearing a staff shirt. I don’t know how to more clearly appear to need assistance than my label reading and shelf scanning so it is extremely unnerving to me that he didn’t offer any (and why would I ask, he literally just appeared to be another customer following me around wicked close) All of that is to say, customer service isn’t for everyone, but training is...
   Read moreLoved the selection ended up buying a combo setup. Before purchase I was told they would spool the reel up for me which they did. The guy asked me how much line I wanted and in his opinion he would only do about 150 yards of braid and the rest mono to which I replied I wanted it fully spooled up with braid. He then puts 200 yards of line on a 500 yard super spool reel and tells me it's good. You can still visibly see half the spool empty. The guy at checkout gave me a 40% discount on the line but in my opinion it should have been free because it's not what I asked for and now Im headed somewhere else to buy 500 yards of line which is not cheap.    Read moreI am not one to complain! I went down to Frisco rod and gun earlier this week and felt blown off and ignored. Customer service felt significantly sub par to previous visits. The staff seemed like they only cared about people coming in purchasing expensive items. When I ask for some tips by the guy behind the register I was told “I don’t know”. “You can try this” in a arrogant tone. I ended up getting advice from another customer. I purchased a few dollars worth of high lows and sinkers and took my business to Red Drum Tackle. Needless to say that store was significantly better. I enjoyed the conversation with this gentleman.
