The quality of service at this location was a huge disappointment. A good pie is important but the management has no communication at all with their team members and treats their customers with disrespect. I recommend that if you’re looking for a good pizza in Asheville, you look at the many other options with exceptional service instead.
I ordered a pizza today (12/31/22) and it was canceled online. I called and asked why it was canceled and they said we cancelled it because ingredients for a side was missing but the pizzas are still being made. I proceeded to go pick up my pizza.
At the restaurant I had three different employees come and ask about the pizza, being told it was being made, then proceed to tell me it was going to be out in 5-10 minutes. Then the employees would completely avoid the front desk and not make eye contact.
After standing for a very long time and talking to the manager, apparently all the workers lied and never actually checked on the pizza. The manager explicitly said that not a single person actually asked and she was back there when they went back to check on the pizza. This means I waited on the front desk on an ordered I scheduled for 4:15 for almost an hour, because everyone here is just clocking in, and has absolutely no regard for the customer, and lies to pass the time and not get involved. The manager threw a free pizza at me but why does that even matter if she yelled at me for being upset at the whole situation? Who teaches a manager to get angry at a a customer for daring to say something instead of being apologetic and finding a solution immediately? I cannot emphasize how aggressive and unwilling to give a genuine apology the manager was, like she had her own issue and had no time or energy to deal with me waiting for an hour for a pizza that wasn’t even being made.
Unfortunately this whole experience has taught me even if the pizza is good the service has reached a level that I will never recommend another person after years of buying pizza here. Guys, you have a great product. You need to put service first.
I really sympathize for the fact that this manager was probably overworked, but there is just no excuse for treating a customer the way...
Read moreThe prices seemed reasonable but I regret to say that was the only positive part of my experience at this restaurant. The food was okay but a little greasy.
My problem was the service. We ordered two pizzas and one of them came out within about 15 minutes. We waited another 20 minutes for the second pizza and it never showed. We noticed two tables that came in after us already had their food.
I went to the counter and asked about it and they kept saying it was almost ready and they would bring it out but they didn't after several more minutes. I went back to the counter and when I asked about it again I got a whole lot of attitude from some snippy man. "WE KNOW ABOUT YOUR PIZZA!" was not the best response he could have given.
The second pizza finally arrived. Again, the quality was okay but certainly not worth the wait and the attitude. I think what happened was they just forgot to make one of our pizzas and didn't even start it until I first went up to ask about it. I don't know why one pizza would take over a half an hour longer to cook than our first pizza, nor could they explain it.
This poor excuse for an employee then told me that the owner wanted to give me my money back, which I gladly accepted given the poor service and poor attitude. Don't think that I did not catch his less than subtle gesture of typing on his electronic cash register with his middle finger. Same to you, mister!
This place has a lot to learn about customer service. I would have understood about it being busy and I would have understood had they just been honest and said they forgot to make the second pizza but between the delay, their attitude and their middle finger gesture, I can only assume that when their business fails in the not too distant future, I will be saying to myself, "I'm not surprised!"
The owner's response from a another posting telling them that they are glad that two other pizza places could meet their needs speaks volumes for their lack of class and lack of concern for customer satisfaction. You should apologize for bad service. Not once did I hear anybody apologize.
If you like long waits, bad attitudes, greasy pizza and middle fingers, this is your new...
Read moreBeing from Detroit, I really wanted to love this place and was happy to learn the second location closer to Asheville opened when I saw it coming up. I went in the first day they opened and have been back a few times since. The prices are high, for sure, but I was just happy to have this style available without shipping in the cheese and making it at home, which gets expensive. I have the pans and a bakers pride pizza oven in the wall so I can get my fix of Detroit style. So you can understand my love for the style pie and that I was thrilled to learn it would be available without having to make it from scratch at home. To me, the main issue is the size. It seems to have started out small, but not tiny. Now it seems to have gotten smaller and smaller over time and now it’s become so puny that when the box opens, it’s like where’d the rest of the pizza go? In Detroit you can pick up two slices to go and count on being full. Here, you can eat an entire small, and probably keep going. Even if more cost had to be passed on to the customer to get larger dough balls, I think that would be fine. I feel that if we’re paying a premium for the pie, it should be of a legit size and not feel like it’s just a sampler. The small size wasn’t just yesterday, it’s been the last 3 or 4 times. At first I thought it was a fluke, but it now seems it’s par...
