Last Friday my wife, daughter and I had another outstanding dinner at Piazza and I felt I should finally write them a review. It is hands down our favorite pizza place in Asheville but we all decided to try something different this time. We started with the Fired Calamari which were crispy, tender and paired nicely with their slightly spicy marinara sauce. I got the Grilled Chicken Caeser which was huge and delicious. The chicken was juicy, and the dressing was exactly how you want a Caeser dressing to taste. My wife ordered the Caprese sandwich with pesto, arugula, mozzarella and tomatoes on a slightly toasted roll. The roasted broccoli as her side was out of this world. She liked it so much that she ordered it again for lunch earlier this week. My daughter got the kids Bolognese (which looked like an adult portion) and said it was better than our Grandma's Spaghetti. Our server was a professional and was there every time we needed him.
It is very rare this day and age to have something be around for so long and get better every time you go to it. Piazza is a perfect...
Read moreService: was phenomenal. Can’t exaggerate how accommodating the host and server were. Caesar salad: a hunk of oily romaine. I don’t know if it actually tasted like Caesar salad. Chicken Parmigiana: it tasted like clams. I’m not sure what the source of this was. At first I thought it was just me but then I isolated the pasta from the chicken and realized it was the pasta that was the source of the fishy taste. Concerning if anyone has a shellfish allergy. Pizza (Hawaiian 5.0) : big, soggy mess. It was essentially a plot of dough melted with mozzarella and raw red onion piled with pineapple (which usually we like but not to this extent). Needed to have stayed in the oven for much longer. Beside the meal, the actual dishes were of concern. Straight away, our water glasses still had the stain of a previous patron (one whom clearly had red lipstick on). Once our plates came for sharing the Caesar salad, we noticed stains of leftover marina from someone’s previous meal and I just couldn’t bring myself...
Read moreMy wife and I ate at Piazza today and were overwhelmed at how delicious the food was, and how tranquil we found the atmosphere. I have Celiacs disease, and as a result haven't had delicious pasta and pizza in years. My Shrimp Scampi pasta was not only unbelievably delicious, but the pasta was as good as whole-wheat. My wife was almost in tears over how good her meatball marinara was. Combined with the Italian Chili Cheese Fries, our meal was perfect. The restaurant was rustic, quiet and clean, and the service was perfect. We will be going back this weekend, hopefully with enough room in our stomachs to try the deserts. I should also mention that we ordered two pizzas to take home for dinner, and even after they had gone cold, they were superb. I can only imagine how good they will be fresh. Thank you so much for your gluten-free options, I had forgotten how much I...
