Im a local and I hate giving bad reviews but I'm going to be honest here and hopefully the staff here will learn and take notes from this review......If you live in tyro or Linwood as I do and want a home style meal at a sit down restaurant this is literally the only place to go( I think they realize this sometimes and could care less about service)..... without having to drive to Lexington Salisbury. I HATE coming here. I dread it!!! but its close to the house. The food is GREAT!!!!!WHEN ITS RIGHT!!!.The Service here SUCKS!!!!!! you sit down...they bring you a menu..bring your drinks...bring your food...AND YOU NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN!!!!...you see them walk by your table 100 times...they never ask if you need anything else....its not just once in a while its literally EVERY TIME!!!! we go. I have to get up and refill my own drink EVERY TIME . I give them every opportunity to acknowledge we're there without being a jacka$@ and they never come by and ask if we need anything, NEVER. They are either talking to each other behind the counter about personal things or yelling at the cooks through the window because they got an order wrong. If they see someone they know at a table it gets worse!!! they turn all the attention to them. We have literally sit there with empty cups and the table next to us has someone they know at it and they will stand there and talk to them and then totally just walk by like were not even there.... I dont mind them talking and stuff but you can talk and work at the same time. I worked in customer service for 13 years and I cant stand to get bad customer service because I know the right way and the wrong way to do it. SO if you guys read this.. PLEASE!!!!!! work on your customer service....ASK your customers if they need anything, and PLEASE keep an eye out for empty drinks...customers shouldn't have to ask for more drink, their cups should never be empty...its the simplest thing..CHECK ON YOUR...
Read moreI grew up a few miles from this Stameys, and been eating lexington bbq a long time. I got this bbq and it was ready even at 9 am! No other Lexington style place is even open at this time, but getting breakfast here is a local favorite!
The homefries with ranch are amazing, a nice seasoned crunchy alternative to fries. I personally think Lexington BBQ 1 has the best hushpuppies but these are okay!
Stameys has mild bbq slaw thats good to eat by itself not too strong, black peppery, their recipe tastes like smokey joes, or lex bbq 1. I think a good bbq slaw should be mild enough to eat by itself, or dip mild enough to drink it. I have had some lexington places make it with too much ketchup or vinegar.
The pork shoulder was served Hot and was amazingly tender, nice smoke rings on my coarse chop! The smoke flavor was Way smokier than what I get at my favorite Lexington BBQ spots in town. Stameys in Tyro is the real country spot, in the middle of a one stop light town. Ive ate pork shoulder all my life and Stameys served me some of the best i have Ever had early in the morning, bathing in a hot lexington dip. They know how to do it!!! 🐷
Please try the livermush for breakfast if you never have, its a carolina thing :)
I love this little place, a real...
Read moreI was on my way to Yarborough's restaurant and I decided to look for something different. While I was searching online, I saw that Stamey's was serving fried Chicken that day. I chose to go to Stamey's for a change. Big mistake. I ordered the fried chicken. When they brought it and set it down, I asked them if that was the whole portion. I really thought that they would be bringing the rest of the chicken. I have never been served such a paltry piece of meat in my life. To add, the skin had a disgusting taste as if they don't change the oil in their fryers. The meat underneath the skin was okay but it was about a third of a normal portion. I also ordered the mashed potatoes with gravy. Another big mistake. They were absolutely disgusting. The gravy was scorched and it was as if someone in the kitchen had tripped and spilled a huge container of salt in the mashed potatoes. As hungry as I was, I just couldn't choke down any more of that briny food. Next time, I'll know to go to Yarborough's. I left Stamey’s hungry and literally had to stop at a restaurant on the way home to get...
