Talia Espresso Elkin Drive-Thru — Restaurant in North Carolina

I am a regular customer at Talia’s and never had a bad experience until today.

I always order the same thing: an iced coffee with creamer and vanilla. Sometimes it’s sweet like I like it (I actually tried this based on an employee’s recommendation) and other times it’s extremely bitter. Most of the time I just don’t worry about it but today I had no Splenda in my car to sweeten it up so I drove back around and asked the owner (who was working the window) that sometimes it is sweet and sometimes there’s no sugar and if there was a specific way I could ask for it so that way I could get it the sweeter way each time.

He then proceeded to tell me they make it the SAME way every time, insinuated it was my “unhealthy diet” (implying it was plenty sweet enough), and acted like I was lying.

I ask for it the same way each time. Why would I lie about a cup of coffee?

I told him I’ve never had a problem before, then he proceeded to say “Apparently you do have a problem.” I then explained that I meant I’ve never come back around to ask about it, I was just wanting to see how to ask for it.

Arrived at the coffee house, it looked quite new and it serves drive through only, which is quite alright. Ordered 3 different types of teas (London fog, chai latte and blueberry lavender), however they all had a lot of sugar and seems like they are flavoured with syrup. I’m disappointed because it didn’t taste like tea. After removing the “honey” from the London fog, it was still sugary and payed $5.50 a piece I can’t say anything about the coffee’s, but wouldn’t be expecting much after my visit. Also more signs around the place would help, as I had to figure out where to order and where to get the drinks, although I understand it is still under...

Used to love this place but recently it’s just kind of blah now. The workers are extremely nice but the coffee taste burnt and the bake goods taste like it’s been sprayed with perfume. The drink I got was a medium iced lavender latte (I’m not a fan of blackberry so that’s why I asked just for the lavender flavor). The pastry was cheese danish. Mind you I’ve got multiple bake good before writing this review because i thought eh maybe my taste buds are just off today…nope the third time and it was different item a chocolate muffin.
