I had read the reviews before we decided we would give it a shot anyway. Here is my honest review.
There were only 2 tables there when my husband, small son and I arrived. We sat at the short bar facing the drink machine. We were promptly given silverware and drink order taken. Drinks arrived and food order was taken. Our waitress did not immediately give our order to the cooks which was fine as other people had arrived by this time and she also had other customers that need to have silverware brought and drink orders taken.
After she saw to that, our order was given to the cooks. Our food arrived hot. Son got waffle and bacon which he ate super fast lol. Husband got some sort of Texas patty melt with hasbrowns scattered and covered he said it was good. I ordered hashbrowns scattered and smothered with a hamburger with only pickle and onion. My burger arrived without onion. To me this wasnt a huge deal the waitress quickly got some onion for me. The look on her face however was one that told me that she was sure due to this very minor thing of the missing onion that she didnt think she would receive a tip. This doesn't mean the service we received ever was lacking. Another waitress whom I watched taking care of her own tables quickly and efficiently also brought our little boy over a waffle house hat which he thought was great. I wish I would have caught their names but had just worked a super long shift myself and didnt pay attention.
The only thing that took place while we were there that really kind of made me angry was another younger waitress talking loudly about how many tips she wasnt making. She actually put our waitress on the spot in front of everybody about a table of hers that had just left and if the man had tipped her or not. I waited on tables for years. I understand that waitstaff depend on there tips to support themselves and pay the Bill's. I base most waitstaffs tip from us off of my drink. If they can keep my drink full or mostly full and service was good then we tip very well. I dont even mind if they leave me a pitcher of sweet tea since that's what I typically drink. It's not their fault if the kitchen staff sucks.
This place is brand new and has some kinks to work out but over all good experience, great bang for the buck and we...
Read moreDuring a recent stopover on our way to NC, my fiancé and I had the pleasure of dining at Waffle House #2325. While the food was certainly enjoyable, it was the outstanding service provided by our waitress, Dinah, that truly made our experience stand out. Despite being busy with multiple tables, Dinah took the time to engage in genuine conversation with us, sharing stories about her dog Gemma and listening intently as we shared about our own pet, Jax. Her kindness, warmth, and attentiveness were a breath of fresh air, especially on a day when we were feeling overwhelmed with our move. Dinah's exceptional service not only improved our meal but also lifted our spirits, reminding us that sometimes it's the people serving the food who can have the most profound impact on our well-being. Don't get me wrong, waffles are good for the soul but so is human connection. We are grateful for her hospitality and would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Dinah for turning a challenging day into a...
Read moreWe came in on a Saturday evening and there were about 3 tables taken in the whole place and two waitresses. Despite this, it took them 10 minutes just to take our drink order. It got worse from there. We watched the cook burn nearly everything he prepared. Our food sat on the counter for several minutes before it was brought to us (right across from the cook by the way). We asked to have the bacon remade but went ahead and ate the overcooked hash browns. The cook managed to burn the next few rounds of bacon. The waitress was aware enough to at least bring us the least burnt of the bacon this time. After eating, we noticed the eggs in the basket were well past their expiration labelled clearly enough that we could easily see it from our booth. I also waited for a coffee refill for about 15 minutes and finally just got up, paid the bill and left. In our waitresses defense, she was having to pull food from the grill so that some of it wasn't burnt as well. We love the Waffle House, but...
