On the evening of Friday January 4th, my husband Mark was involved in a vehicle accident on I40. He walked 2 miles in the rain to exit 319 to use a phone because his cell phone died as well as his vehicle not being drivable. My husband was soaking wet, his jeans were covered in mud from walking so far & he had visable scrapes on his bald head. Mark is a frequent customer at the other Benson store and loves talking with Sharon and other store managers a few times a week. Because of this he figured he could go into the Food Lion at exit 319 and experience the same great customer service & some help in a unfortunate situation. He walked in & went to the customer service counter, he asked if he could use the phone to call me (his wife) for help. The "customer service rep" was very rude to him and made him feel like he wasn't good enough or allowed to use the phone. A customer was laughing at my husband and pointing at him. My husband of course verbally set him straight and told him how horrible it was that he judged another human without knowing anything about them. Mark had to leave your store & walk to a near by restaurant we've ordered from before (2 Cousins Pizza) to receive kindness & respect for his situation. I feel like this is a great time to train the employees at this location to treat people with respect & know that one persons bad experience can change their whole outlook on a company. Now 2 Cousin's Pizza will receive our referrals & 5 star online review when Food Lion is stuck with a complaint that could've been easily avoided. Luckily for Food Lion Sharon at our local Benson location has set such a high bar for outstanding customer service & building relationships with her local customers. We go to Food Lion at least 3 times a week & will continue to...

I've been shopping at the Food Lion on NC 210 in Benson for a while now, and I'm consistently impressed with my experience. The store offers an excellent selection of food products that meets all my family's needs. From fresh produce to pantry staples, they have everything well-stocked and organized.
What really stands out is their customer service. The staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to help. Last week, I was looking for a specific item, and one of the employees not only checked the stockroom but also offered suggestions for alternatives. This kind of attentive service makes shopping here a pleasure.
The store is clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. Checkout lines move quickly, and the cashiers are efficient and courteous. Their weekly specials and MVP card savings are great for keeping grocery costs down too.
If you're in the Benson area, I highly recommend this Food Lion location for your grocery needs. The combination of product variety and outstanding customer service makes it stand out from other supermarkets...
Read moreIf you want to be treated like a criminal because they don't staff registers in the morning, go for it. The guy on self checkout will, without a word, walk from across the floor and stand directly behind you. No greeting, no asking if I need help, just immediately put under surveillance. I had to almost turn completely around to see them. I'm not checking behind myself because I'm trying to ensure I don't get caught stealing, I'm looking to see if you're really that dang weird first thing in the morning. After I tapped my card, they of course, walked back to their original location. Sheesh, try and make it less obvious. I haven't even stepped foot in this location for months because they are usually out of what I want but they are on the way home; however, I'll just drive farther / spend more elsewhere to avoid being treated like a criminal. Customer service needs a...
