Small but mighty black owned business with QUALITY service & DELICIOUS food! Hired MTSOC for my 10 year class reunion on 9/4/2021. Owner, Antwan Smalls, was extremely responsive and informative the entire process. Their prices are competitive (actually the best) and their food was… PHENOMENAL- seasoned and cooked to perfection! The spread was perfect - a little bit of everything to appease all guests! His staff served the guests and were extremely pleasant and patient. There was more than enough food for seconds and to go plates. I found out about MTSOC by a referral and I’m so glad I took a chance with them. Living out of state and trying to secure vendors you’re not familiar with is always a risk, but I’m thankful I took a chance on them because they did not disappoint. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIRING FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT.

Stopped here as soon as we landed in Charleston and this was a good choice. This place is less than 3 miles from the airport. The service was great! The ladies behind the counter did a good job in getting our orders. Nice presentation of the food and so many veggies to choose from. I had the fried fish with greens, cabbage, and Yams and I enjoyed it. I was expecting catfish since I’m from Arkansas but was pleasantly surprised with Cod fish. The fish was seasoned just right and was fresh. The greens, yams, and cabbage were good also. My wife had the the chicken and waffles which she enjoyed. It didn’t take us long to get our food and we sat in the dining room. Overall, this place got our trip off to a great start and I highly recommend it.

Oh. My. Gosh. This place. I was looking for a yummy restaurant to have my birthday lunch and boy did this place NOT disappoint. They have a menu, but we opted to eat off the hot bar because it looked and smelled delicious. I had the fried pork chop, my husband had the meatloaf and because I couldn't pick on only three sides, I ended up with five: lima beans (best I have EVER eaten) macaroni and chees (to die for), rice perloo, okra stew, and collards. The entire meal was hands down one of the best I have ever eaten and I am still thinking about it 24 hours later. And don't get me started on the cornbread...this food was just incredible. Highly recommend and will be going back for sure!

UPDATED! My Daughter and I went here for lunch today. We opted to dine in and ordered A traditional soul food dinner consisting of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, cabbage and we added the SEAFOOD Rice. Most of the soul food restaurants I have visited are no frills places that serve mostly in a cafeteria style which is awesome because you get to see and pick & choose whatever you'd like. My Three sons was busy at lunch time when we went but the line moved pretty quickly. From the time we ordered until the time we ate it took all of 10 minutes. It was a pleasant experience which we will definitely repeat. The chicken and Fish were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The macaroni was creamy, cheesey and baked like grandma's. The greens were well seasoned, and topped off with some turkey meat for extra flavor- not over cooked and just right. Definitely our go to place for a home cooked meal without the fuss of a big chain restaurant.

My First encounter with this restaurant, I had Lunch catered for my favorite Charleston County School District Child Development Teachers at Mary Ford Elementary from My Three Sons upon recommendation from a colleague. I got a menu from Online, this family owned restaurant prides itself with Southern Homemade specialties. It offers everything from Appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, meats, seafood, and desserts. I really didn't know what to expect but from the teachers praises it had to be good.

I ordered 5 different flavors of the Dale's Wings and Things Drumettes. I ordered the Lemon Pepper, Honey Mustard, BBQ, Teriyaki and Sugar Bourbon. Each of the flavors were taste bud favorites which we all could not get enough of. The wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce covered them without overpowering the flavor of the cooked chicken. DELICIOUS!

I also ordered a few platters of the Seafood Rice which was made with Shrimp, Scallops and crab meat. The rice was as authentic to Gullah Seafood Rice as you could ever get. It was colorful, grainy ( not mushy or sticky), and packed with veggies (onions, green bell peppers, red bell peppers, tomatoes) and seafood. The rice was extremely tasty, super nutritious, and not to mention especially pleasing to the eye. It's a must have each time I order from here.

I also ordered the mixed salad platters made with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and sliced carrots. Nothing was wilted, everything was colorful & beautiful, crunchy, and flavorful as if just picked from a garden.

I had a wonderful experience from Ordering the food on the phone to the delivery and set up a few days later. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality of food received. It was all Simple & delicious southern food that tugged at my heart and brought back memories of home cooked meals. I strongly recommend this restaurant and I definable will go back for the rutabagas and...

Ok...I went to this establishment today with hopes of trying some great food and having a great response. Unfortunately that didn't happen. On arrival and entering the business, I was immediately told that I needed a mask to be in the business to keep everyone safe. This is as the same employee working the front had her mask under her nose the whole time. There was another couple that walked in behind me without one and they chose to leave the establishment. Since I did not want an issue, I retrieved one from my vehicle. I didn't have an issue with the mask since I am always respectful of the business requests, but when the employee asking thinks that only her mouth can spread covid, that is unacceptable. When I re-entered the business, the same employee was coming from the kitchen and I could see that there were several employees with no mask at all and one with one pulled down below his mouth. As I stood there shaking my head, my order was made and retrieved with a feeling of take it and go. The fried fish was cooked crisp, but lacked taste and the rice was over-cooked due to some of it being hard and the scallops/shrimp being rubbery. My intent was to try a new restaurant that appeared to provide good soul food, but the attitude and hypocrisy of the staff did not make me feel welcome as well as the quality of the food was not what I was...

This was not a very pleasurable experience at all. I commend them for their awesome covid protocols that they follow. I go their on a 30 minute lunch break. They let me know it'll take 15 minutes for them to prepare my food. This is quite understandable if the food is freshly prepared. Nevertheless, I ordered my food. Waited 20 minutes before jumping in the lines. I only had one person in front of me. Took them 10 minutes to get their food. At this point it's been 30 minutes. I get to the window it's 3 minutes before they even acknowledge my presence then once they acknowledged me they said it'll be a few more minutes before my smothered pork chops were ready. That was a whole ten minutes which passed. But I'm cool the staff was friendly and I was expecting some hot food. My expectations were clearly not met. The food was not the least bit warm. Then on top of that, I had to get back in line because they left off one of my sides. That whole process was another 8 minute process. Then to get back to my truck and my partner whose food I ordered as well was missing a side too.. we just could not win in any way. I truly was not...
