I had company over last night and we placed a large order ($100+). Close to every item ordered had an issue. The fried calamari was horribly overdone, burnt to a crisp and pure shoe leather. The fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp... was spaghetti with sauce pooled at the bottom and BABY SALAD SHRIMP. Laughable. The seafood calzone with "crabmeat" was imitation crabmeat, not real crabmeat (this can be a real issue as imitation crabmeat, AKA surimi, is made with sugar and starches that some people, like myself, have severe allergies to--- not to mention that it is FRAUDULENT to sell something as "crabmeat" when its simply not), and... again the teeny tiny baby salad shrimp. Not to mention that it was so disgustingly greasy! Literally gobs and gobs of oil everywhere. We ordered a fish hoagie with no onions... it came with onions. The wings that were supposed to be garlic and mild came with zero sauce whatsoever.
Honestly it was so bad that we went down there today to talk to the manager, face to face. I took pictures of everything, and I really wanted to level to her as one professional to another that this was really unacceptable. I cook for a living myself, and as a small business owner I always value customer feedback because it lets me know what improvements I could be making. The woman started off extremely defensive (at one point angrily saying "this isn't a 5 star gourmet restaurant"--- which FYI is not what I expected by any means, but I do expect orders to be right and cooked properly and not to receive inedible garbage). After the plethora of pictures though, she seemed to understand the issues and said she'd relay my message to the owner and they'd be in touch with me at some point.
Well, the owner never even bothered to talk to me directly. The manager simply called back and offered me a lousy token $25 refund on a $100+ order of total garbage. Whatever, that's fine. I'm not going to argue the point with people who clearly don't care about improving their business, and a refund was never why I wanted to speak to them in the first place, but it really just goes to show how little they value customers. we ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and received spaghetti Alfredo (the sauce didnāt stick to the noodles at all because they are smaller noodles) it was extremely dry noodles on top and just a pool of sauce at the bottom with tiny baby salad shrimp.
lastly and most importantly we ordered the seafood calzone (says CRAB meat on menu) it had immatation crab meat which isnāt crab at all.
We went to complain in person about this and the manger was defending her workplace until we listed all 5 things we ordered were wrong and showed pictures. Then she just said the owner would call us.
