Finally got to try this place after they have been opened almost a year ago now. I love the fact that they renovated an old building, I guess I just expected they would have done a nicer job at trying to get âthe snoopyâs â out. I wouldnât take a first date here, if that helps. First impressions are everything, case in point, the maitreâd who greeted us, (I guess was the owner) after asking our name for our reservation, attempted to seat us at the 1st table right at the side door, within an almost empty restaurant. So my wife requested another table and he was visibly âput offâ . You would expect, âof course, take any table you wantââŚ.NOPE or perhaps âabsolutely ââŚ.NOPE, he said nothing except his look said it all, note to owner: Keep this person (or yourself) away from the customer, rude doesnât even cover that greeting. On top of that, he never said a word upon leaving us like:â enjoy your mealâ..NOPE. As an aside, hereâs a lesson on greeting people in a new establishment, that you have any hope of growing: â Welcome, have you been here beforeâ? âHow did you hear about us?â âŚNOPE On to the food: my wifeâs prosecco was barely bubbly, perhaps the end of a bottle, if soâŚ.Donât serve it!! Our house salad that we split(see pic) was ok, but notice the carrots, they are the matchstick carrots from the bag you get at the grocery store, which we use regularly during the week. I donât want to see this when Iâm spending $14 plus on a restaurant quality salad, shave them, julienne them, anything but this, we eat with our eyes too. We ordered the chicken parm and the bolognese, my chicken parm was very good, nice and hot too and the red sauce was very good with a side of al dente pasta, perfectly cooked. My wifeâs bolognese was good, but nothing that would encourage you to return for. Iâd go back for the chicken parm, but only if they got rid of...
Read moreI heard about this restaurant & had read reviews both from newspapers & food critic articles so was excited to try this place. Recently went there to celebrate my birthday with friends. I never ate their when it was a diner so wasnât sure of the inside.its a small establishment but the table layout were set up very nice. I recommend that you make reservations.I started out with the soup special which was lentil soup & wS very good & flavorful.. The bread placed on the table looked like store bought sliced Italian bread & was just okay. The pest dipping sauce accompaniment was good. We mostly ordered the pasta dishes since most of the pasta is made on the premises. Though not homemade I ordered the paccheri pasta, which though not as popular here, is in Italy, with zucchini & quanciale which was very good & really had a nice flavor. One of my friends did not get what she ordered. Instead of the special crab risotto with fresh tuna she was served the other special, risotto with scallops & the scallops were just 4 bay scallops instead of sea scallops, so she left most of the risotto on her plate. One of the disappointing moments is that the owner/manager never approached our table to see how we were doing, even though he walked by our table many times. I really thing think this is hospitality courtesy. Anyways, food was good but not acknowledging customer I think is a disservice. This is my reason for giving the restaurant 3 stars ( really 3 1/2 stars) oh & the tiarmisu dessert was what I remember being served in during my trip to Italy. I will definitely try it again as I always try restaurants a second...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible food. Upon walking in you can tell the atmosphere is vibrant and the place is hopping. We had reservations (luckily) and were sat at a table in no time. Our server, Ricky was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The cocktails were so crisp and delicious. The garlic bread was stuffed with garlic and parsley, fresh out of the oven. The entrees arrived and we were blown away. The 8oz. Filet special melted in your mouth like butter and the homemade rigatoni with sausage, and mushrooms in a red wine sauce left me speechless. We finished off the night with a slice of homemade Nutella cheesecake to go. I will just say, even if you are stuffed, please take a slice of cheesecake home. You wonât regret it. Absolutely canât wait to go back. 11/10 experience. Thank you Caffe...
