My husband is a diabetic requiring insulin. He tried to refill his insulin and they told us that the insurance wasn’t allowing it as he had already been given enough to last til January. It is now early December. He explained how that wasn’t possible as he has not yet used more than what he is prescribed. They said they would look into it and came back with same answer. We then asked them how much they believe he was given the last time he picked it up and they told us 2 boxes. We explained how that wasn’t possible as he had only received 1. I asked them to review their inventory procedures and figure this out. Again they said the same thing. We called again and said there is no way you gave 2 boxes please figure this out. They reviewed their security cameras and realized they had in fact only given 1 box when they wrote down 2, billed us and our insurance for 2, and recorded their inventory as having given us 2. They corrected the error and filled it for us. All this took a long time , at least 2 days, and we called them to ask if they could stay open til 8:05, when we would be able to get there, in order for my husband to have his insulin tonight and the pharmacist was extremely rude and said “no guarantees” and hung up the phone. A box of insulin pens costs around 600$… for them to make this error and deprive a diabetic of insulin for 2 days and then have this be the response is mind blowing to me… we drove like crazy and made it before they closed.
