Ordered a picture window in July it was installed in Mid February. During this time, the initial estimate was incorrect, my name and the address were incorrect requiring me to provide deed information to correct it. Then the man who came to measure was inflexible about time requiring me to take a whole day off from work just to get the window measured. He measured the window incorrectly, resulting in the wrong window being ordered. This also resulted in a $222 dollar upcharge for the "correct" window. This was a second day off from work with the contractors, who were very nice tearing apart the window and caulking it back together. I was given a 2nd, install date with a 3rd day off from work. Again the wrong window was ordered. This resulted in an actual install date that was 7 months after the date of order (fun little tid bit is that the scheduling assistant who scheduled the February date called me to tell me I fell off the schedule and that she had to reschedule me and had to give me a new install date) . Also, there was no one in customer assistance who could do anything about any of this until the window was installed. Once I called, I got hooked up with Richard, the regional manager. Super nice dude. But the short of this is after waiting 7 months for a window, they could only compensate me $150 dollars on an $1800 dollar window or else my warranty would be voided. Super frustrating process from start to finish. People super nice, but niceness doesn't make up for time out of work and the frustration of...
Read moreI ordered something online which they cancelled almost immediately because they were out of stock. However, they still charged my card and took my money. When I called, not only did they confirm that they were the ones that cancelled the order but no refund process had been initiated. They charged me and were going to take my money without saying a word about it. First time I called they said they initiated the refund which is untrue. The charge posted to my account. When I called a second time(1 hr on the phone) they gave me the runaround and basically came to the conclusion that even though they never sold me anything I will be out the money for around 10 business days, 2 full WEEKS! And thats if I get the money back. Do not buy online from home depot! They charge you immediately and apparently hold your money hostage! It seems to me that they are hoping that you don't notice the charge and are trying to keep peoples money due to the high volume of shopping done during the holiday...
Read moreMost of their Lumber is low-grade. Their pressure-treated is number two. You cannot get number 1 grade pressure treated at Home Depot. You may think you're getting a deal but generally their prices are the same as anyone else or you're getting lesser quality then you think. Many times I can't find what I'm looking for, yet I find it at the local hardware stores. I bought some Behr Marquee ceiling paint because Consumer Reports rated very high. But I find that it's very thin and it splatters when you put it up. When I buy it from a paint store I get a very good hiding product that's much thicker and applies much easier. I purchased some two-by-fours that were pressure treated and had them in my shop for five or six weeks before I went to use them. When I grabbed one it had Twisted so badly that I had to throw it away. Other things like PVC pipe and so on are fine. And they're handy because they're open late. But be careful what you...
