We wanted to like it so bad because it sounded so good but it was just horrible. Our server was nice and that’s the only positive thing I can say. The food was nothing short of disgusting. Chicken fried steak was fresh from the freezer and cold when served to me. Chicken and dressing was from a box or freezed container as well. Mashed potatoes are instant. Broccoli was super dark and had a weird taste and some kind of milky cheap nasty cheese sauce on it. I’m not one to complain because it gives me anxiety so I just ate a little and decided to cut my losses. Also got charged $2 for a side of shredded cheese for my baby and thought that was mighty greedy for cheap dried out shredded cheese. I could get a whole bag at Kroger for $2. Went to check out and pulled out my debit card. The owner lady said she doesn’t accept cards and that she’s been there 39 years and she isn’t gonna start now.. totally rude comment but I thought to myself ok I must of missed the sign on the door. I had to walk next door and pay $4 to get cash out of the atm. As I walked back I scanned all the windows and doors looking for a sign that said no debit/credit cards and there wasn’t one. So felt that was really unfair for the owner to expect people to know she doesn’t take anything but cash. Definitely won’t be back. Truthfully don’t know how she’s even still...
Read moreI’ve visited the establishment a few times in the past and had always had a pleasant experience. Food was good with decent pricing and staff was very welcoming. I visited yesterday and found hair to be in my food. Of course that was my last bit but I hadn’t eaten half of what I ordered. I notified the waitress and she took the hair with my fork to inform the manager and kitchen staff. I proceeded to the front counter and was still charged full price for the food I ordered. I paid it without question but felt my business wasn’t appreciated with that gesture. It was obvious the hair wasn’t mine and I assumed there was a in-written rule in the food industry that when things like this happen then the customer make a partial payment or get the meal free of charge. The manager never acknowledged me as she was also sitting in the dining area. That experience yesterday tells me they don’t care for repeat business or don’t care for MY repeat business. I honestly think the gesture was personal but I won’t say for what reason but definitely let me know I’m not welcomed. I’m also a small business owner which is why I patronized this place in support of small businesses but that was a slap in the face. I could understand if I ate the food but I didn’t even eat 25% of the meal. The 2 stars is because the waitress...
Read moreWas in North Little Rock for a bit and decided to get out and taste some local cuisine at the encouragement of a colleague. If you're looking for somewhere that's highly refined and corporate, definitely look elsewhere. However, if you're looking for some delicious, no frills eats... you need to stop here!
The specials of the day are affordable and plenty. Soon as I walked through the door I was seated and served promptly. I opted for a water, but all the locals seemed to be pretty fond of their sweet tea. The chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy, and mustard greens were brought out promptly, and were delicious! My lone wish is that they would do breakfast from open 'till close, but still not a...
