Roadhouse 169 Bar & Grill — Restaurant in North Mankato

After reading reviews, my wife and I stopped for a late lunch during a snowstorm. The steps and ramp were both very icy and hard to get in the building, but I figured they were just short handed and hadn't gotten out to shovel or salt. So once inside we located a table and were excited to try food from the little roadside bar. The waitress whom was obviously still under the assumption that she was 20 and in shape came over and asked what we would like to drink. After placing our drink order she turn and said are you guys gonna eat? We replied yes, she gave an eye roll and stated from 2 till 4 pm we don't cook if you want something to eat it will be an appetizer. So we asked for a list of them. She gave more eye roll and walked off. Came back with a full menu and we ordered 3 separate appetizers trying to make our own little buffet out of them. The nachos came out a pile of chips with hamburger dumped on top and some shredded cheese. They tasted stale and were cold when they got to us. They didnt have any other toppings despite the menu showed and listed several more.. our mini tacos were decent and the breaded cauliflower was not fully cooked.

I have seen alot of places in my life with poor customer service. But this place and ournsteipper, I mean waitress left me shacking my head for the rest of the trip. Save yourself the experience and get a nacho aand a pack of twinkies from a...

Worst service ever.. Waited over a hour and a half and order was not even done. Bar was not even half full, barmaid was more concerned with gamblers who were bellied up at the bar, rather than the two tables of individuals eating, I had suggested the bar as a great place for lunch, upon my past experience's there, and my wife and I met a friend who was from Rochester and was working in Mankato, we arrived at the bar at 11 am and ended up walking out hungry a t 12:30 pm.. I drank 3 beers and my wife and friend had 3 pops and even that service to get the drinks was unbelievablely slow.. I finally asked for our bill after 12:30,we payed our bill in full and were offered no compensation or explanation of our poor service, and I actually heard the barmaid tell the cook he was doing a great job as we were leaving. My friend went back to work hungry, the wife and I left and went to red lobster and had beverages and our order in and enjoying a side salad within 15 mins of ordering our meal.. I was very disappointed with the staff at roadhouse and the horrible service and I will never go back again, as long as I live here in Mankato. Totally...

I have ups and downs - please read fully before making a decision on this restaurant. Thanks I was not impressed with my burger, thought it was a bit burnt. I feel like my husband and I were not regulars we got overlooked for a minute then praised with "can i get you anything else?" Constantly. Though one might like that I felt invaded on. The atmosphere was very loud even with the TVs, but the laughter and loud talking among many customers as well as customers and employees, I actually left with a headache. Okay, okay if you enjoy the bar style - beer, tv, loud appreciation this place is TOTALLY for you. Enjoy! Just ask the cook to not cook the burger so long. No not rare just not burnt.
