Merricks Ranch House — Restaurant in North Platte

The server waitress with messed up eyes, questioned why I sat at a dirty booth, and didn't question other tables why they sat at dirty tables, she not 1 time asked if I needed anything, and she clean other boothes didn't clean mine, and the hostess asked why she didn't, I said yeah you know why, I'm 75 Native Amer that's why, she kept askn everyone around me if they needed anything else never asked me, so finally I talk to the mngr, paid my meal, and the waitress tried being nice then, I said lady , get away from me quit talking to me I did it twice, I don't need her fake after treating me bad several times, prejudiced witch, screw all you whites who are prejudiced agaisnt Native Americans, and she took my order was talking extremely loud, I typically tip real good, I tipped her according to her attitude a dingy...

A small group of us were passing through and read the great reviews. We decided to give it a shot. First impressions were ok. Basic restaurant, nothing fancy and it appeared fairly clean. Pretty simple menu and their prices seemed low. The young man that waited in us was pleasant. The wait time for our food seemed to be about average. However, the food. I'm sorry to report that their food was flat out bad. Extremely low quality food that was obviously precooked that evening. Keeping in mind, the price is the only reason for the two stars. If you're down for a dirt cheap meal and low quality food, this is your spot. Do not expect anything more. Our party of six did not get any meal worth giving a good review for. Considering the prior reviews, we may have caught a rough evening for them....

I've been coming here since I was Born!! I live in Colorado now but, everytime I come to see my dad i come here. Fabulous prices, unbelievable prices I might say. Their soups are my FAVORITE... OMG THE vegetable beef, ham and bean...i always buy 4 of each just to snack on I I'm in town. Dad wanted a steak for Father's day. 18.00 prime cut Nebraska beef, green beans, mashed potatoes with brown heavy, and dinner roll. Plus Tea or Coffee... it was so good and huge. I love this place. I loved their open faced samdwich meals as a kid. Heavy gravy on bread, it was bomb. I love this down home page. Things change and cooks change but, they have maintained quality.
