I was really excited to try this place cause the food looked delicious and people said the coffee was really good. It might be on a normal day but this time they only had me workers and they don't know how to make most of the items yet. I understand them not knowing how to make some items yet but you should never have only new workers working somewhere without them knowing how to make some of the stuff. Besides that, the workers were at least friendly and apologized for not being able to offer all of the menu items. The food was pretty good, we got the chicken salad sandwich [picture below], a kale smoothie (which was actually a spinach smoothie because they ran out of kale), a medium pour over coffee, a medium chai latte, and a cinnamon roll [picture below]. These five items together were almost thirty dollars so it was pretty expensive for the amount of food/coffee we got. The kale smoothie alone was seven dollars. Quality wise, the pour over was pretty sour and that's coming from someone who drinks black coffee, the cinnamon roll was great in my opinion but my mom thought it was just kinda average and the chicken salad sandwich just hit the spot. My mom thought that the smoothie was about average and the Chai latte was good. I would love to visit again and I will probably improve my rating when I do but as of now I am leaving a 3 star review. I do still suggest this to anyone passing through because I think I just went on a bad day.

I love when you find coffee gems along your journey. I’m always intentional when it comes to finding that perfect roast on the road. The Espresso Shop is a bit different than most coffee shops, ad they have a huge gathering room. It was pretty full of locals the morning we were there. Oh and they were all very friendly as I was standing in front of their dark roast refill station. 😆I ordered a chai latte and a carmel latte for my wife and daughter. I ordered a Chemex for which I held my breath for a moment. Usually the order taker will roll their eyes and tell you it will take 10 minutes (this I already know since I do it at home every morning). Not here, they seemed excited that I was doing something a bit different. Then the owner jumped in to help and started crafting my morning hero. I asked some questions about his flavor profiles and he mentioned they roast on site. I choose the Kenya which was a real treat. It was a true pleasure to sip. I could have spent hours taking coffee with him. He was obviously very knowledgeable and enjoyed his craft. Thank you for being that coffee oasis I really needed. Oh and they have some awesome looking pastries and food. We will have to savor those on our next journey! Mahalo!

Can’t wait to return to North Platte and visit The Espresso Shop. The Espresso Shop is a lovely and spacious coffee cafe in downtown North Platte. What I love about this place is the perfectly medium espresso roast. Here are the deets and what I tasted: Roast: medium Notes: toasty + a hint of mocha Taste: a little crema, with no bitterness, acidity or aftertaste While in town, I came almost daily 😋. Their espresso can stand on its own but I love to dress 👗 mines up. Here is what I ordered while in town for a couple of weeks: vanilla oat milk latte 12 oz blackberry + vanilla oat milk latte 16 oz vanilla + rose oat milk latte 16 oz I also ordered an avocado toast with hummus and fried egg which was super delicious. I recommend a 12 oz to really enjoy the flavor of the espresso. As a city girl, I can appreciate a real deal coffee shop in a small town. The owners and staff are lovely. You may have to wait in line because it is a local favorite, but they are professional and diligent to get your order taken and I highly recommend The Espresso Shop Coffee and can’t wait to return.

I love this place. It is our hometown coffee shop. The Espresso is locally owned and operated by a guy who takes pride in his business and os constantly finding ways to improve and make North Platte a more cultural place.

The food here is fantastic. My go-to breakfast food is the loaded enhances oatmeal, which comes with all the healthy tasties your body needs like oats, fruit, peanut butter, and some seed things that are yummy but I don't know the names of. My other go-to breakfast item is the breakfast burrito. It is tasty and filling.

They offer everything from your standard chai to your nerve pumping espresso. They have some delicious house created drinks. My mom seears by the symphony, but I a traditional chai gal. That's right chai lovers...they make a homemade chai right there on site and it is delicious!

They just added some new stuff to the menu for fall and I am telling you now, the corned beef and hash skillet is pure joy for your tasty buds and tummy!! I recommend grabbing it with 2 over medium eggs...your stomach will thank you.

Seriously, this is coffee shop is a a perfect place to meet up with your friends for coffee, study, or just to grab something and go. They also work with Door Dash so the wonderfulness can be brought to you.

If you are visiting North Platte, just driving through Nebraska and have the rumblies only good homemade food and coffee can satisfy, or if you live here, the Espresso Shop...

The Espresso Shop is an unexpected find. It is hip, down-home, funky, sweet, and affordably-priced. It is an earnest young restaurant, coffeehouse, and music venue. It appears to be a remarkable oasis on the high prairie.

The food was very creative, and the staff was sharp and friendly. We took our lunch to go but hung around long enough to see a bustling community gathering place.

The chicken salad in the croissant sandwich was fresh and creamy, full of big chunks of perfectly cooked chicken breast. There were also crunchy veggies, and something fruity (grapes?). The croissant was high-quality and stood up well to the job of holding the chicken salad.

The fish tacos (Friday special) were light, crunchy, fish-flavorful, and only mildly spicy. The home-made red pepper tortillas needed more cooking (and perhaps a titch more salt).

We got the sandwich and tacos, plus a drink and a coffee, all for $16, which we thought was pretty cheap. The food was worth way more than what we paid.

While we were deciding about our order we got to see the owner (Brandon Rabe) offer a taste of the taco filling to an elderly woman, who was concerned about how spicy it might be. We like that kind of customer service: honest, caring, accommodating.

Keep it...
