Foxtail Coffee Co. - Wellen Park — Restaurant in North Port

2/16/24 our third visit was today, and it was by far not the same warm fuzzy feeling as our previous review. As you can see, we are prior owners of a very busy successful coffee shop. We prided ourselves in our employees customer service.

We walked in today, 2:45pm, no other customers at the facility. A young lady, black hair, nose ring in was working alone. Never once did she welcome us to the business. Never once did she ask if we had any questions nor what she could do for us. She literally stood behind the register with a blank stare on her face. We placed our order and she took our money, made our drinks and sat them on the counter saying “heres your drinks”. No thank you’s, no thank you for coming and definitely no please come again. This young lady is a poor representative of this business. There is no excuse to not be friendly, and an ambassador of the business.

8/19/23. As prior and retired coffee shop and bakery owners, we’re always exploring new coffee shops and today we traveled just a bit south from Venice Florida to North Port Florida to the Wellen Park area.

Found this recently opened gem. The place is obviously very modern, drink menu full and of course very trendy.

Had a very limited bakery item list, brought in from Sysco Corporation. Nothing special from a place as such. We did not choose any bakery items for that reason. They looked good but being prior bakery owners, we prefer fresh baked.

Our drinks were amazing. A tad weak on flavor’d syrups, when asked for additional, we received promptly.

The three baristas working today, 8/19/23 were just awesome young ladies.

Absolutely will...

Rude, inconsiderate, dismissive, ignoring. Not one or two but all 3 girls straight up completely ignored me. And worse, they even made eye contact but somehow purposely chose to say NOTHING, just keep ignoring. No hello, no how can we help, just nothing.

I went in to pickup a delivery order. There was already a lady at the pickup area with a few things in front of her and the girls were working on more to finish up her order. - So I was waiting patiently just presuming they're working on the delivery order and the items in front of the lady were all part of some of what she already received, because she did have partial of her order.

In the meantime, ALL 3 of the girls had made eye contact at times and said NOTHING to me but were helping others who entered AFTER me. WHY? Why say nothing? What are you gaining out of blatantly ignoring people? It's so incredibly RUDE.

Then when pickup lady left and there were items still on the counter, I saw those were my pickup. - Yes of course I could have checked before that, but the items were literally lumped all together with the other pickup lady.

Nothing, in my opinion, nothing excuses those girls from being SO dismissive and blatantly IGNORING a person, especially after you make eye contact then just turn away and say nothing.

Places with bleeping ATTITUDES like this are so ugly. I truly cannot comprehend this level of rudeness. I'll never give them a dime...

Don’t bother. You’ll end up disappointed. This was my last attempt at giving this place a chance, and unfortunately, I was once again disappointed. Every time I visit, the employees give off an impression that they don't want to be bothered. Today, I specifically went in for an espresso milkshake, but the lady behind the counter informed me that she wasn't sure if the blender was working. I kindly asked if she could check, and she went to the back to speak to another employee. Eventually, they both came back and assured me that the blender was working, and they proceeded to make my milkshake while whispering among themselves.

To my dismay, the milkshake turned out to have the consistency of milk rather than a real milkshake. You would think she would realize this as she was pouring it into the cup. As I could tell they were not happy to be at work, I didnt bother asking for another one. My order went straight to the trash.

It's such a shame because the area and concept of this place are great. However, it is clear that the employees need to be replaced and properly trained. This was my fourth attempt to give this place a chance, and each time I have left...
