First off, the food did taste delicious. Upon walking in it felt very unwelcoming, was not greeted just kind of started at. I could tell the 2 staff’s group of friends were hanging there and it felt like I was walking in on their hangout and I got stared at by them. The place itself appeared very dirty and not somewhere I would ever consider sitting down to eat. Upon walking up to the counter that had the open food for them to make salads/wraps, there were multiple flies landing in all the food, as the front door was propped open and there were no coverings at all for any of the food. Back to the staff, it was a couple young boys not at all professionally dressed (there should be a uniform or at least brand t shirt but there was not) and they didn’t seem to want to be there. My salad was being made, and at that time another customer got in line behind me. A ‘friend’ came out of the bathroom and stopped and made a face at us customers and looked at her friends and said ‘what the hell’ and gestured at us, as if we were intruding on a meeting. It made me feel super uncomfortable. The only music playing was heavy metal. Like serious heavy metal. That made me feel even more uncomfortable. At this time the falafels for my salad are frying so I’m waiting a bit which is fine, and the group of friends decided they needed some food. So they all ended up behind the counter making food. So I’m guessing maybe they were actually employees? It was all really weird as I couldn’t tell who worked there and who didn’t, as this group was all sitting socializing at a table when I walked in. Now they’re working making food? Not sure… Lastly, I finally got out of there and ate my salad in my car, and the Kalamata olives are literally the kind with pits! I nearly broke a tooth. NO establishment should be serving olives with pits, wasn’t given a warning or anything. This is very unsafe. I’m not sure how this place has been open for so long and actually has really positive reviews. I was uncomfortable and skeeved out. Maybe I caught it at a really bad time...
Read moreI've passed by Fresh Pita for years. Decided to stop in today. What I loved about it was the feeling that I have found a Mom and Pop, no frills atmosphere, that probably took a hard hit during lockdown, but still kills it with their food and customer service! I recognized a sweet, family atmosphere, that made me feel like I was a guest in their home kitchen. So delightfully surprising! I was greeted by a sweet girl, who was most likely the daughter of the family owned business. She recognized (probably because I looked like I was sizing up the offers and a bit confused) that I was a first time customer. I was given a complimentary bottle of water and a sample plate, while waiting for freshly cooked rice. A very kind, but not necessary apology, from maybe the proprietor? Either way, it was all delicious! While I waited, I ordered stuffed grape leaves (I'm in love) and hummus. I was warned that it was a bit runny because she (I guessed the mother/wife and co-proprieter) just finished making it. It was perfect! Smooth, creamy and garlicky. She bagged fresh pita and apologized for the original bag, but wanted it to stay fresh for me. Really? Who cares that much about a random customer? I usually don't go on this long on a review, but the food is delicious, meats are perfectly seasoned and tender, huge portions and the food stands on it's own. A plus is the sweet family, working their business, during the toughest time, when they can easily rest on the quality of their product. I'll be back...
Read moreWas disappointed in our food. The service was great but the Spanish plate was just horrible. $15 the rice and chicken were definitely made HOURS prior to the rice was undercooked but sitting in water(assuming from the “stewed” boiled chicken. The chicken was dry and tough. Some parts were still pink. I HIGHLY Recommend they get a Dominican in there to teach them how to make a Spanish plate. Because that was not it. The flavor was bland at best The rice and chicken was pre portioned out in styrofoam just sitting in that water for who knows how long. The mozzarella sticks(2) they only had one so they discounted it which was nice, except it was burnt and the cheese itself was mediocre. Now the empanada was tasty. Cooked just right.
The orange cake was frozen so I had to wait a few hours before I could eat it and that was delicious.
I recommend they either stick to what they know( Mediterranean Food) or pay someone to teach them how to do Spanish food because charging $15 for that plate should be a crime.
They did offer to refund my money but I wasn’t in the mood to stick around any longer than necessary.
My partner did get a chicken gyro...
