Geneva Diner — Restaurant in North Providence

I've got to be honest, I use to absolutely love this place... Over the past year and a half, it's gone down hill QUICKLY.. First, they stopped accepting credit cards... granted they have an ATM on location but still an inconvenience to the customer.. My opinion, it's worth it to accept the cards and pay the little fee per transaction. Their menu has changed (not really a bad thing) but there is no prices listed for ANYTHING on the menu.. So a person can be charged $2.00 for something and another person ordering the exact same thing will be charged $7.00 (I've seen it happen in person) The last time I ordered takeout, the food was placed inside a Styrofoam container (which I don't mind) and then microwaved (causing the food to taste funny and the container was misshaped and actually burnt through) It makes sense to cook the food and or reheat it in a microwavable safe container and THEN place in the takeout dish. The one thing I will say, they are/were very nice.. but I'm not writing this based on their social skills, i'm writing on their cooking abilities. I can greatly appreciate the fact they accept grubhub and door dash. I wish they read this, and treat this as a building block on how to more forward and learn from what people have to say. Two stars is pretty generous considering the omelet I ordered was very bland and didn't match the menu description. Overall all of our food was really tasteless and not great, and the coffee was incredibly watery. The staff was okay, but one of the possible owners was there, could not stop loudly talking about himself to some regulars. It was just kind of unprofessional and honestly very annoying. The server was nice enough but seemed completely out of it. I would chalk it up to maybe a bad day for them, but there are a plethora of amazing breakfast places in and around Providence. Won't...

Being a fan of diners, I've had this one on my list for at least a year now. I finally had a chance to try them out, and am very happy I did! Service was super-quick: my order started being worked on before I was done ordering it. Coffee was excellent. The eggs, bacon, and home fries in my "Special #2" were yummy, and hankfully there wasn't a lot of seasoning on the home fries. I've been to some places where the home fries are a salty, garlicky mess, and was happy that this wasn't the case here. Highly...
