From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and inviting — a true gem tucked away in Reading, MA.
The food? Exceptional doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every dish was a masterpiece — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The pasta was perfection, the seafood melted in our mouths, and don’t even get me started on the desserts. Each bite was a celebration of Italian culinary artistry.
But what truly set the evening apart was the service. Youssef was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell they take great pride in what they do. And then there’s Lamia, the heart and soul of Mario’s. She’s an absolute gem — warm, gracious, and deeply passionate about creating memorable experiences for her guests. It’s rare to meet someone who makes you feel like family from the very first encounter.
Top it all off with a masterfully crafted martini, and you’ve got an unforgettable night. Mario’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. 10/10,...
Read moreThis is a sad day for me. I have only ever left 1 single star review until now. I am leaving this review because I am in shocked. I met 2 vendors for lunch and sit in the dining room to discuss my business. We ordered food and drinks. We sat in the dining room for less than an hour and a half from 1:30pm to 2:50pm The dining room was completely empty other then us. The employee first lowered the lights. Then we were told she needed to get the dining room ready for dinner. We said ok and then she added “this is not an office”. I was taken back and asked her what that meant. She repeated she needed to get the dining room ready for dinner. We were sitting at a single table. The dining room was clean and looked ready except our one table. I try to give local businesses my support and I have been going to this restaurant for years. It makes sad when a business can’t to the easy stuff like be nice. I totally understand when a place is short staffed or have limited products. They get a pass from me. I cannot...
Read moreDecided to stop here for lunch after reading some of the great reviews that Google reviewers described this spot as an Italian mom and pop style food establishment. The location is in a shopping center and the ambiance is cozy with a large TV on ESPN. It has enough room to fit around 25-30 customers comfortably. It's a walk in order and sit style which I'm very familiar with in the big cities like NY and Boston. The pizza had great reviews but I decided to try the Italian wedding soup and my wife the chicken tortellini soup. We also ordered the chicken piccata to share. The soup was good-not too salty. The Italian wedding soup was exactly what I expected it to taste like and the chicken soup was served with generous chicken breast, carrots, onions and celery. The chicken piccata was flavorful and the pasta was cooked to normal texture which is not too mushy. Overall I liked this place and will come back to try the gourmet pizza and ribs. This Italian American...
