We always wanted to eat here because of the great reviews!!! We think they are having their friends write and post the reviews!!! Because it was nothing like what we read...Our 1st step in the door we almost fell on our butts because the floor is greasy you could literally do the splits as you are standing waiting for a table, waiting for a table, no signs anywhere telling you to take a seat or please wait to be seated, as we waited not greeted by any employee there, one table opened up and was cleaned I proceeded to walk toward the table and I hear hey hey hey You!! Not excuse me, but that table is taken..so I turn around at my hey You!!! To be told it was taken we were a party of 4 I watch this bleached blond go up to the counter removed 1 man and 2 small children already seated at the counter to the table for 4, so now 4 Adults are standing waiting for a table while 3 empty seats at the counter are available..What?????? So after we watch their customers lingering after their meals are eaten watching the next customer's waiting for a table. The employees do nothing to encourage the finished customers to leave..this must effect their tips and the real money the very small cafe could be making on top of what they already make. Finally after being told that table when cleaned will be yours, we were never actually seated. We noticed that the return vent on the ceiling right smack in the middle of the cafe was disgustingly dirty as was the heater vent that was also on the ceiling both right over the tables. Waitress comes takes our order, no personality!! No greeting no nothing, but as we are waiting for our food the waitress the only 1 had plenty of time to talk to the customers at the counter, We have seen this little cafe very busy, but not as we were eating it has cleared out and had 3 empty tables believe me that is about 1/2 the cafe. The food was good for the most part, fries were over cooked chicken tenders were horrible, no juice in my chili, I like thick chili as much as the next person but come on a little less cheese. Turkey sandwich was the bomb and so was the chicken cordon bleu. As we wanted for the waitress to finish her conversation with the people at the counter and hopefully notice we were done and needed a to go box plus our check. We watched the bleach blond play on her phone, go to the restroom, play on her phone some more play some more...zzzzzzz oh our check yay we can go home now!!!! So take it for what it's worth but I will pay for my food, but I won't pay for rude service!!! So HEY YOU won't be back and I did not...
Read moreThis place is raved by locals, but if you're looking for someplace new I'd suggest skipping Sunshine cafe - Alice's kitchen is my preferred alternative in the area. Sunshine is a very small cafe with little seating, so during busy times even if you get takeout the wait is pretty long (which is fine as long as you expect that ahead of time). Its almost not worth sitting there especially because the staff treat customers so poorly (except for regulars, apparently). The food quality is admittedly good and price is reasonable, but that's the only positive. I've been here about SIX times (twice in person, four times to go) thinking I may have hit them on on off day, but will never go back. I was persistent because of all their rave reviews, and trying to give them a fair shot because their regulars love them so much. The wait staff are completely rude and cold to customers, which I experienced all 6 times I went there. The food was good enough to just order it to go instead of expecting to sit there, but I got bacon once that was almost burned (crispy to the point that it crumbled as I picked it up), which I understand everyone loves bacon differently. I'm not going to judge harshly or leave a 1star review because my bacon isn't perfect. The 1 star is because the next time I ordered bacon I asked the if they could make it not so crispy, just about "medium" and they put raw uncooked bacon in my to go box. I would assume out of spite because having instructions not to cook bacon too crispy made them angry. The last reason for the 1-star review is the wildly inaccurate wait times. I sat down to eat twice, but after experiencing horrible wait staff decided to try a few times to go because breakfast is my favorite meal. I came exactly when I was told it would be ready and 3 out 4 times I had to wait noticeably longer. I would say try...
Read moreWe had a group of 7 of us there this morning and were welcomed by such a loud and rude waitress that we all walked out. We had to wait a half hour to get seated, which was understandable because of the small size of the venue and our large group but then when we were seated we were split up into two tables far apart which we didn’t want. We are relatives visiting from out of country and we want to be together. So they said if we waited longer they would put two tables together and we could be together. So we waited till the table next to us was clear and we were told we could now have the table so we turned the tables and put them together just like we were told we would be able to. There are three adults and 4 kids so we weren’t splitting up. Then the tall server came and loudly yelled at us again as if to announce to the whole restaurant that we were not allowed to put the tables together even though we were literally told we could put the tables together. So we left. We felt pretty unwelcome and I was extremely disappointed especially after I had just been here the day before with my nephew and was very happy with the food so I brought everyone there today just to be embarrassed and disrespected. I wish I caught the servers name but she was a disgrace and I’m sure she damaged the opinions of the other patrons as well as ours. She was tall, thin and looked to be mid to late...
