I, like many other's came due to a lot of ppl reviewing this restaurant on tik tok and IG. The website didn't work and no one answered the phone, so trying to order ahead was impossible. I arrived around 12:40 on Sunday and the line wasn't too bad but the sitting area was full of patrons waiting for their orders. I noticed that Salmon was already blocked out as a protein option and to note they opened at Noon. I was pretty taken aback when I seen the Soulfood bowl was $27. That's very steep considering other soul food restaurants for half the price. Around 1:45 my order was ready, but by this time they were out of pot roast and collard greens. Again they hadn't been open for 2 hours and the menu items were already selling out.
Overall review of soulfood bowl it's a solid 3/5, not worth $27. The dressing had more of a stuffing mix taste and the cornbread was overcooked around the edges giving a burnt flavor. The mac and cheese and sweet potatoes were really good. The pot roast was decent, just a tad...
Read moreCame here from Detroit and despite some of the negative reviews (which there are only a few) i decided to stop and have lunch. First off when I walked in I was greeted at the door with a warm Hello by the lady at the counter. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu (which was unique by the way) and explained what everything was. Never heard of a peach cobbler egg roll but I was intrigued lol. Needless to say I tried the shrimp Alfredo potato and a peach cobbler egg roll. All i can say is WOW!! The potato could have fed 2 people the Alfredo sauce was phenomenal( you can tell it was made from scratch) Let's get to the STAR of the show. That peach cobbler egg roll. LORD HAVE MERCY!!! It had some sort of cream filling that made me feel like I was eating peach cobbler with ice cream in it!!!!!! Wow. Hats off to the chef and the staff keep doing your thing. We need one of this...
Read moreWas looking for somewhere not offering standard fare so decided to try this place. Lady at the register was very welcoming. Place only has 3 or 4 tables and for the most part is geared more for takeout.
Ordered the corn beef and jerk chicken egg rolls. The chicken eggroll, tasted a lot like red beans and rice with a small/ nice touch of like a roux sauce. I liked it and the side of jerk sauce went well with it. The corn beef was also good but the sweet and sour and jerk sauce don’t really go with it. Maybe a side of 1000 island like a Reuben would be better. Gf had the salmon burrito and she said she really liked it. I got the Rasta Pasta and oh boy this thing weighed literally two pounds and can easily get 4 meals out of it, which makes it a great deal. Creamy, spicy……..I really liked it. Wasn’t blown away by anything but both my gf and I agreed we enjoyed it enough to...
