Midwest comfort foods served politely in a spacious sit down style. The fried pickles are fantastic, the coffee flows freely, and the staff are friendly. Three types of Manhattans grease (sic) the menu and there is no shortage of salt and butter. Eat at Grateful Grubb for a true Midwest small town experience. Very spacious seating area allow maneuvering of wheelchairs and strollers. TVs were playing college football for Saturday lunch hour.

Very clean. Scenic view of country landscape to enjoy outside large windows while dining. Friendly staff work fast to bring affordable meals that are very generously portioned with p plenty of flavor. Great menu with plenty of options to choose from. Comfortable seating with adequate room to enjoy your meal never feeling cramped for space. I love this place and recommend having the mushroom Swiss burger served with sweet potato fries!

A lot of fun and quite a drive from Indianapolis. My wife had the pulled pork and green beans while I had the tenderloin Manhattan and cottage cheese. If you do go to Grateful Grub make sure you order the deep fried mushrooms they are the best by far. They give you a very large helping and they were absolutely wonderful and worth the drive all by themselves.

If we could do a half star we would. My food was not even warm enough to eat. I ordered the roast beef Manhattan that was suggested my our server. The mashed potatoes were xold and lopled like they had been on a steam table for for hours the day before..... ( cold and left over) thr corn was cold and tough.... The meat was tender and hot with gravy. That was the only part I ate. The server never even came back to ask how we doing amd if everything tasted good... I got her attention and asled id I coild get an order of fries... As she looked at my plate, that I jad pished to the edge od the table, obviously for her take away, shw said "sure, no problem". Looked at the plate and walked away. My husbands tenderloin he had ordered was fair. Nothing special and it was overly dressed with mayo and other toppings that it was so sloppy he couldn't eat the whole sandwich with it out it falling apart. Partly due to an old stale bun it was put on. The worst of it all was she still didn't ask how things were while she brought our check and looked at my plate for the third time. Knowing I didn't eat anything but afew bites of the meat and...

truly awful. while the staff was extremely friendly, and a small town burger joint atmosphere, the food leaves a ton to be desired. food sides come out in typical baseball stadium french fry dishes. I ordered the 8oz Angus Bacon burger. while I didn't weigh it, it surely wasn't a half pounder. it was beyond well done, dry all the way though and the flavor of shoe leather. I barely choked down a third of my meal. harsh maybe, but I can't think of any other way to describe how bad it was. two in our group ordered their Blueberry "pie" for dessert. both expecting what most think of.. a slice of pie, crust on bottom, some baked doughon top, filled with blueberry filling. what came out looked like some cross between cheesecake and frozen whip cream with a spoonful of canned blueberry filling on top.

so... service/staff: 3/5 food: 1/5 price appropriate for serving: 4/5

Because I'm there to eat, I wouldn't recommend based...

Having a late lunch early in the week may influence my ratings here. Party of 2, after 2 p.m. on Tuesday. I have heard SO many good things about GG I guess my expectations were way way up there. I had a Grub Club sandwich which was hefty. I was surprised that all the meat had been grilled. Maybe I missed that fact on the menu. FF's were piping hot and crispy. The Bacon Burger my friend got was swimming in mayo and altho she specified "no onions" there was at least 2 whole slices of onion on it. The appetizer was pleasing to us both, pulled pork BBQ nachos. Nice slices of jalapeno, much cheese and the pork was really good. The tortilla chips may have been a Doritos flavor. They were orange-ish with a flavor and coated salty cheese. All and all, not bad. I would like a dinner meal to be a real taster of the well acclaimed...
