Back Home Bagels Deli & Bake Shop — Restaurant in North Whitehall Township

This was my first time at BHB. I was obviously missing a very popular experience as this place was slammed on a Sunday at 10AM. When I saw the selection/menu and the obvious following I became excited for my breakfast. Unfortunately, the experience after that made me never want to come back again. Me and about 15 other "walk-in" customers stood in a crowded waiting area WELL over 20 minutes (other reviews posted about a 20 minute wait. I order 2 cold bagels and a hot specialty sandwich. I continued to wait 45 minutes!!! I was not the only walk in customer that was waiting for s significant amount of time. This very much felt like call in/ online orders & sit down customers come first and walk in is a very dead LAST! The staff was friendly and polite but basically told me "we are busy" you should have called in. I guess I was missing the big secret. I honestly feel if you can handle the "three tier" business model (sit down, call in, and walk in) then you need to STAFF more people! I will not be returning. There are other...

So I ordered a bagel with butter and cream cheese. The girl at the counter called my name as if my order was ready, I saw her putting cream cheese in a side cup, I asked was that really my order ? I didn’t order cream cheese on the side, she told me my bagel was too hot so she put it on the side . Ummm….. isn’t that how most people want their bagel, I did order it toasted. She then snatched the bag from my had and put the cream cheese on the bagel then threw my bag on the counter, cream cheese all over the outside of the bag. I then went to the manager because I seriously couldn’t believe how I was treated. I asked is something changed as to why I wouldn’t have gotten my cream cheese on my bagel, he said no. I explained how rude the young lady was and how she treated me… he didn’t want to hear it , he said did she fix it, I said yes but how she treated me was ridiculous he then asked again, did she fix it… I left smh How rude! It's interesting how this store replaced the pizza hut that was there before it but coming in as a new customer I was very surprised with how the layout has changed. The overall esthetics is very appealing and seeing the bread and deserts up front is pretty exciting. The food there is great I do love the variety as well as the deserts they have. Not the best I've had desert wise but still decent. The staff was efficiently quick and overall had a good positive vibe. There is coffee there but I was disappointing by the lack of drink variety. Note that this review is written I ly 3 weeks since they opened as I'm told but that's something that should be taken care off. Also since their specialties have unique names your gonna want to get familiar with what there selling but that's not necessarily a con since you can get what you what in a wrap, long bread, or bagel and the snack variety is also good at a...
