First, the signage on the building is so bad that I couldn't find the place. I called, and the young lady on the phone swore that there was a sign on the side of the building. Nope. Signs on the front were hard to read, and small. It did however have a big awning from the pizza place that was there many years before...
The First bad taste I experienced was the POS (Point of Sale) credit card terminal which tries to insinuate that you should tip largely for whatever you've purchased.
I ordered an oven-roasted turkey sandwich. I hoped it had potential. When I opened it, It had big, thick slices of turkey on the nice looking roll. However, it was supposed to come with lettuce & tomato, but there was almost no lettuce at all on the sandwich. For all practical purposes, they should remove the description of having lettuce from the menu, because it looked in reality like an after-thought. Lettuce is the least expensive thing to put on a sandwich, and yet it provides the necessary crunch for the right mouth-feel on any good sandwich. And all that was on it was a few small scraps of lettuce. The amount of tomato was almost adequate.
The claim on the menu is that the meat is "oven roasted turkey" which makes you believe that the meat is going to be great quality. Alas, it tasted like cheap deli meat that was sliced thick and heated up. Not what I was expecting, based on the description.
The place was completely empty at lunch hour. Nobody sitting, nobody waiting.
That says a lot, and the owners had best figure it out before it goes belly-up. The only reason I'm posting this (bad) review at all is in the hope that the owner will read it and take it seriously. Customers deserve better. Not that...
Read moreI came in last night with my buddy and we each got a sub. I haven’t really tried this place and it’s one of the few non fast food places in town so I was excited to see what they offer. I got the Italian sub—a classic, and I was pretty disappointed. There was barely any lettuce, the tomato was the size of a hockey puck, and even with mayo it was a pretty dry sandwich. In addition it was $11 after tax, I was expecting a sandwich with some more substance but visually it was about 3/4 bread. Along with that, the place was a ghost town— it was later in the night, and it was empty. Regardless, the order took 15+ minutes which is a bit odd. My friend and I have worked in the food industry for a few years now and it was pretty slow in general compared to what we’ve been used to or seen. Finally, my friends fries were incredibly soggy to the point where he couldn’t eat them enjoyably. Most likely they just didn’t shake the oil off them after they were pulled, or they were older fries that were re used. Ultimately, it was very disappointing and I don’t think I...
Read moreWe went here a lot more before the changes - whether dining in or taking out. The menu may have been too large before to be profitable, but now it’s extremely limited. Very few choices and smaller portions for higher prices. I had the smash burger recently and it was yummy. The service was also great as usual (love love love the owners). The new decor? Awful. We honestly thought we walked into a Thai place. It is so so dark and not suited to the name or menu. I liked it better before. I was really hoping for brighter lighting and flooring to make it more inviting. They do have new furniture, plates and silverware - great upgrades. But the atmosphere is less appealing than it was before. We also understand limiting the menu but now there are too few offerings and you can no longer order from the same menu for dinner or lunch. The Neighborhood has always had awesome food - that did not need to change. Gordon Ramsey and team - you need to come back and do better for these wonderful people as they deserve it - and to...
