I've ordered from here a few times, the first two times the food was really good and the pricing was reasonable. However, I called two weeks ago to place an order (I always order the same 2 things) the lady who's usually placing the orders and payment transactions, she upcharge me by $3. The first two times for shrimp and broccoli I was charged $11.50, and for the sesame chicken $10.50. This time she wanted to charge me $14.50 and $12.50. I mentioned the discrepancy to her and she told me that she never charged me $11.50-$10.50, I tried to explaining and even offered to bring in the recipes (Thankfully I kept them). She was insistent continuing to deny. I let it it go. Now fastforward two weeks until today I decided to place an order, I expected the charges to be $12.50 for sesame chicken combination, she told me it would be $14.50. I mentioned the upcharge to her and she them told me for a large $14.50 was the amount but she was aware I wanted combination, not a large. She again tried fast talking me on costs. Ultimately I paid the $12.50. Had I not mentioned the change in pricing she was most definitely going to charge me the $14.50 for a combination, including and additional $1 fee for using a credit or debit card making the total cost $15.50. She was trying to be slick and get over on me, but I caught it. Once I arrived to pick up my order she was being extremely condescending by over explaining what she initially already explained during our call. She went on and on and on and on literally repeating the same thing. Then she grabbed the sauces (duck sauce soy..etc..) tapping on the tray they were occupied in saying "You want sauces here", as if I didn't know where the sauces were located. As she's still explaining the cost, she continues to tap on the sauce try saying "here, here, here take sauce" the she says "take, take they are free!". She then begins talking about the pricing of a can soda. She says the can soda was $1.50 and bottle $2. I've always paid $0.75 for a can. Fastforward, upon opening my food the meat was dark in hue with white patches and over fried. It was crunchy and stringy with dark portions where it should have a white meat color. I tossed all the food, couldn't eat it. Anyone visiting this place be mindful of the pricing because the Chinese or Asian lady she will try to get over on you and she's a fast talker. Like them city people. I was dissatisfied with the food and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of ordering online takeout from Star Garden Thai and Chinese Restaurant in Northumberland, Pennsylvania, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. This restaurant offers a wide variety of cuisine with a focus on quality and flavor.
To begin my culinary adventure, I decided to try the Phoenix and Dragon Chef's Special with white rice. The dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors did not disappoint. The combination of tender chicken, succulent shrimp, and an array of fresh vegetables, created a harmonious blend that pleased both my palate and my eyes. Plus, I added bamboo shoots. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion size was generous, making it a satisfying choice.
I also indulged in a shrimp roll, which was a perfect accompaniment to my main course. The roll was crispy on the outside and packed with a savory shrimp filling. The accompanying duck sauce provided a tangy and slightly sweet kick, elevating the taste even further.
As a fan of seaweed salad, I couldn't resist ordering a side of it. The seaweed was expertly seasoned, resulting in a refreshing and briny flavor. The crisp texture added a delightful contrast to the other dishes and served as a pleasant palate cleanser between bites.
To quench my thirst, I opted for a bottle of chilled black milk tea. The tea is always brewed to perfection, striking a delicate balance between the rich aroma of the tea leaves and the creamy sweetness of the milk. It was a comforting and refreshing beverage that complemented the meal wonderfully.
The service during my takeout experience was efficient and friendly. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and accommodating to any special requests or modifications.
Overall, my takeout experience with Star Garden Chinese Restaurant was undeniably enjoyable. The delicious dishes, accommodating service, and attention to detail make it a great choice for anyone seeking a flavorful journey through Thai and Chinese cuisine. I highly recommend trying the Phoenix and Dragon Chef's Special, accompanied by the shrimp roll, seaweed salad, and a refreshing bottle of...
Read more2 stars at best. All the people waiting for food park handicap and the young boy is the only person managing customers. Stop giving pitty reviews.
I pulled up seeing a 4.7* review hoping food good quality. I first noticed that all the customers doing takeout park handicap with no tags or permits. Shame on the owners.
When entering the store there is a long line of frustrated customers. We sat at a nearby table and served by a young teen.
We ordered a chicken curry which was more like a chicken coconut curry, wonton soup and a vegetarian soup for my wife. The food was ok.
The young man was the only person managing the register, he was also the waiter too. I noticed a few customers who retuned takeout because the order was wrong. Hard to be frustrated toward the young teen doing all the customers facing work.
On my departure I found two vehicles illegally parked in handicap getting jumped. Ironic?!? They waited so long their batteries died. It was hard to get my wheelchair around them because the parking lot is not paved. I returned to my car at the...
