I would give this place 0 stars of it was possible! My husband surprised me with reservations to Blackstone's for Valentine's Day. We had 8pm reservations and we were seated almost immediately with bread and water showing up quickly after. 20 minutes later, the waiter that ran passed our table without as much of a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" finally stopped at our table and asked for our drink order. I asked for a wine list and menus as we were given nothing. Off he went with no apologies. We were given the menu and were left once again. He finally came back to take our drink order and we gave him our food order as well, in fear we weren't going to see him again for awhile. That was 30 min after we sat down.
Another 30 minutes goes by and we have not received the soup or salad we ordered as an appetizer. The couple at the table next to us hadn't received drinks or bread after 30 min so I guess we were lucky to have that. It's now been an hour since we sat down. We try to get the waiter's attention, but he keeps running by us so fast, we can't get him. My husband finally gets up to talk to a gentleman that looks like the manager. They both come back to the table. The "manager" says it's really busy and the food will be out shortly. I let him know it's been an hour that we've been there with no food. His reaction was the throw his hands in the air and say, "well what do you want me to say". "I'd like you to say I'm sorry" I said. He mumbled sorry and walked away.
Soup and salad finally arrive by the "manager" but now we are so disgusted by the treatment of the staff, we contemplate cutting our losses, ending the bad experience, and going elsewhere. The "manager" offered a free glass of champagne. I told him a glass of champagne was not going to make up for how he treated us. I told him we are business owners ourselves and we chose this place of all places to spend our money and have a good experience on this holiday. To be treated the way we were treated and to have our holiday ruined is appalling. He leaned over to me and whispered an offer of a bottle of wine. I told him we weren't that heavy of drinkers. He asked what I wanted. I asked that he think about it and come back with a solution. He left the table.
Another 30 minutes and our steaks finally arrive. We cut into it. Overcooked. I flag the "manager" over to show him. He grabs my knife in disgust and proceeds to angrily cut into the center of my and my husband's steak with such ferocity, his glasses go flying out of his pocket and hit our table. Yes, mine was better when you cut into the middle and he preceeded to snap, "see... red!". My husband's was truly overcooked but the "manager" didn't care. He walked away fast leaving his glasses on our table. I start to eat my steak my husband is just letting his sit on the table untouched. When I ask what's wrong he says, "it's overcooked. I'm so sorry I chose this place and ruined your Valentine's Day."
The waiter finally arrives back to the table and asks how everything was. I proceed to tell him about the night and the "manager's" reaction. My husband hands the waiter the "manager's" glasses. The waiter apologizes and said he is taking care of the entire bill. (We left him a tip although we hadn't seen him all night.) The people next to us still had nothing but bread and water at their table.
On the way out, the older couple that sat behind us said to us, "I don't blame you for being mad." I stopped and spoke to them and they shared their feelings of disappointment too. The man then said, that's not the manager... that's an owner". I look up and the owner is looking at me talking to this couple. I just shake my head and walk out.
Conclusion: They are living off of a reputation of long ago and they don't care about their customers. At least if the food was incredible it would of been worth it, but sadly it was mediocre. There are other great steak places in the area (Washington Prime for example) and I will NEVER return to a place where the owner treats...
Read moreNo accountability! Ordered @ 5:04 pm and went to pick up and told they had no record of it. No customers in the restaurant and asked for at least an acknowledgment of I’m sorry the order was not sent in and told it went somewhere else. When you can state the price of the order before the new one is placed to the penny and what the special is how could we be lying? 🤔 Even called Southport and no order was there because we were told the call must of been “transferred.” Ordered the prime rib rare (center piece) and it’s grey. We were not informed it came with asparagus and mashed. We would not have order more sides so it’s evident their is a lack of communication. The 10oz filet was ordered as rare cool center and as you can see it’s medium as it has a heavy char and well done a centimeter down and the center was hit not cool. Ends are well done. If this happens on a Thursday with no one in the restaurant then what would it be like if they are busy. Capital Grille at least will admit their fault. Sat at the restaurant waiting for the missing meal, no one in the restaurant, no accountability, they believe it’s cooked correctly and it’s far from cool red center and rare. The cream spinach is very watery. They will not reimburse and the customer is not right which is a poor business model. This is very sad as to last week I was their with my son and the meal was good so there is no consistency. So if you are looking for a steak house DO NOT waste your time as it is a hit or miss due to the economic issues ($145 order) according to this...
Read moreI made the worst decision when I selected this place for a surprise birthday dinner for my girlfriend. I made reservations for 1/11/19 at 8pm (I booked the reservations two (2) days prior). When we arrived we were greeted, promptly seated, and served our drinks. We ordered our entrees/ appetizers around 8:20 PM. As we waited talking and enjoying the evening I glanced at the time and noticed it was 9:30. At this point we didn't receive any food nor an update about the status of our food. I politely signaled the manager and advised him of our situation. The manager assured me that the food would be out shortly. The time then went to 10:18 and we still didnt recieve our food. It was at this point that I signaled the waiter and told him cancel the order I'll pay for what's on the table and we'll go somewhere else. Before we could get up the waiter came out with all ten plates. The food wasn't hot at all and one of the people in my party had to return their food because it was cold. Then they told me that the cake for her birthday would be on the house. I told the waiter she is gluten and dairy free and we didn't want them. The cake was given to us anyway and when they decided to sing Happy Birthday the enthusiasm was so low that we told them to stop. Lastly, they over charged my sister and they didn't want to adjust their error until we threatened to call the authorities. The service was so terrible it made the food taste disgusting. If I could give this place zero stars I would. DO...
