Northern Lights Pizza (116) — Restaurant in Norwalk

This is more constructive criticism than negative feedback or bashing just to be clear. The first time I ordered it was right on par for northern lights, I loves it, toppings were generous, ingredients tasted fresh for this type of pizza place. 4 to 5 stars. Before I finish let me explain that I pretty much order the same thing every time, large pep extra cheese maybe some sort of breadsticks(which I usually don't eat but it's priced the same as a large 2 topping or at least I was charged the same within a dollar or so) with a 2 liter.The people are always very nice also so good customer service. The last few times I have ordered however the food has been pretty sub par, 2 weeks ago I ordered the usual pizza( i believe i picked up the order), the crust I noticed was pretty stale tasting and the toppings were not generous in line with a pizza with extra cheese. A week ago I ordered a scooby( a favorite of mine) I called in asked for pep, g olives and, the last 2 toppings to be extra extra cheese, now in my experience with the Ankeny northern lights that thing should be oozing with cheese, again the toppings were very light in my personal opinion. Tonight I went back to my usual pizza deal, I do live out in a rural area and had the food delivered so I not only expect to wait a little longer but I do also try to tip very well (about 60% plus the 4 dollar delivery charge) , I did call after waiting over 2 hours which again they were very nice kn the phone explaining they were busy and short handed, no problem I know how it is, worse comes to worse I can heat it up I thought, but that was not my issue and the pizza actually was normal temp i would expect when i received it, the issue was againcrust was very very stale like the dough was weeks old , the best way to describe it is if you go somewhere and get a soft pretzel and it's kind of hard and really chewy, which made my experience pretty bad to the point I could only choke down a couple of slices before I had to just get rid of it because it was that rough. So I guess I am just more disappointed than anything, I hope that maybe I just had bad luck a couple of times with the dough and it's not a common thing as I don't see any other poor feedback. The other issue is the toppings, it drives me crazy when places are inconsistent especially within the same 4 walls, I know northern lights are individually owned but if I know one typically goes lighter on cheese I'll pay to add extra cheese or extra extra cheese to compensate only to get about the same amount of cheese after paying 5 dollars more. I would love to see these guys succeed as a franchise as I said I love northern lights but I will have to hold off on making it my 1 cheat day meal a week until I am more confident in their product, and I look forward to that for...

Edited due to new management : They have really dialed in their operations. Pretty consistent on cooking the pizza. They have my business back.

Pizza is consistently under done. Even after requesting a well done pizza and informing them of previous problems. Thought we would give them another try tonight to save a trip to the South Side. Ordered online and chose the well done option. I also called the store to tell them to please cook the pizza and expressed past problems. This is literally the third time ive tried to extensively avoid getting a trash pizza. Wife brought home pizzas and were barley cooked. We love Northern Lights , and was excited to see them come to Norwalk. But, after at least a half a dozen attempts I give up. Will go to the southside location where I have been going since...

I placed my order online for an in store pick up one evening and when I went to map my directions I saw they were actually closing in 3 minutes. I called to cancel my order and apologize not realizing what time it was. The employee who answered the phone said they take orders up to the time of close and they would be happy to complete my order. I completely expected them to cancel my pizzas happily but they were on it! Not only did they complete my order but the pizza was fantastic.
