Ucbc bagels — Restaurant in Norwalk

Update 7/18/25 - I have really tried so hard to love this place since it's right on my way to work, however each time I go in (literally inside the store speaking directly to them!) they get my order wrong. Could be a language barrier thing, idk, but it's disappointing. And the girls at the counter are less than friendly, they don't even respond when I say thanks and have a good day. So rude. Do better in East Norwalk UCB.

Update 1/4/24 - Really UCBC??? Now you're only open Friday, Sat and Sun? What about us hungry folks who work Mon - Friday? I had high hopes (except for the eggs) the bagels are great, the staff is top notch, why oh why do you set yourself up for failure. Businesses that cater to a breakfast/lunch crown and are only open on the weekend.....the writing is on the wall. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

What a disappointment. Was excited for a bagel shop in East Norwalk, a little closer to home than Liz Sue or Village bagels. Had high hopes since I know they have stores in Darien and New Canaan. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened it. A thick gelatinous slab of microwaved powdered eggs like you’d see in a bad hotel buffet. Won’t be ordering that again. Do better ucbc, especially since there are other great bagel shops in Norwalk. UPDATE: Been back a few times since my initial review. Bagels are great, staff is friendly and quick, it’s on my way to work. Just won’t order...

Despite its proximity to my residence, I was disappointed to discover that this establishment does not specialize in bagels. While their “bagels” are freshly baked and offer a diverse range of flavors, they fall short of the authentic experience of a traditional bagel. A bagel’s unique texture, weight, and flavor are derived from its boiling process. Unfortunately, the “bagels” sold here are merely light, fluffy, and ordinary bread dough shaped like bagels and baked in an oven. They are labeled as bagels due to their central hole and priced as bagels but is just cheap bread. While the staff is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant, the absence of genuine bagels makes it difficult to justify visit this...

I went to order online and there were no bagels to be seen. Other options were available very odd I couldn’t order a bagel online. I went to visit the shop and the floor was dirty with bagel toppings EVERYWHERE. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days. I ordered my bagel which was barely toasted the butter wasn’t even melted because of it. I ordered a wrap to eat later and the wrap was hard on the ends. It was hard to eat and I threw most of it away. Very disappointing I was hoping this would be a new spot for me. I could tell there was effort in the quality of the food but not properly maintained and not properly prepared.
