The Hair Lab Salon — Local services in Norwalk

I went to get my pixie cut trimmed and added bangs. I gave pictures and the length wasn't too much of a difference from what i had just layers adding and a clesn up. I was turned away from mirror first and then haircut began. It alwsys taks the whole hr so i didn't realize anything until i saw the hair on floor and saw in mirror. I was shocked all my hair was gone. Eveyhting on the sides was gone as if i asked for a boy cut. Bangs are above my eyebrows and completely thinned out and the little top hair i was left with was chopped and thinned out extremely. I was shaking and just put my head down. The person said "im sorry i didn't communicate about the length" " im sorry its shorter than u wanted" but this wasnt length this was all my hair was cut off. I cant style it any way because its extremely low like a guys cut. The top hair is extremly low and there are three bits of longer pieces on my right side and lef side i have a botched part where it looks like it was enpty no hair. I was holding in my tears and paid and once i was out i was crying. Ive been crying since i got butchered. I cant show my face i look like a guy. This was not the cut i wanted at all i did let him know this is not it and im just beyond depressed and crying non stop. I look hideous and there's no fixing this its a boy chopped up short cut. Like all my hair is gone. I dnt sleep i dnt eat. Im hiding in a hoodie al day at work and when i drive i still wesr a hoodie. He took my confidence away completely by butchering my hair. I needed a new hairstylist and it was a very scary change for me. It took almost two years to finally find a hairstylist who I would trust to cut my hair. I found him in the Hair Labs owner, Richie. Richie has an innate understanding of hair. He gets it! I have used Richie three times now. The first two visits were beautiful blow outs that lasted days and days. That is what convinced me he was the man and that I should book him for my cut. Great consultation and follow-through on that conversation. He has great scissor and brush skills and gave me a beautiful cut that looks just like it did at the salon, a week later. When I style it or even when I wash and air dry, it falls naturally and perfectly. Ritchie's finish work is incredible too and that is a sign of a really great hairdresser. Richie is personable and a great listener and warmly welcomes you to his salon. The salon space is pretty cool too with mural painted walls that get redone yearly. After looking for 2.5 years and trying various salons/stylists, I have finally found a hair home in Norwalk! I have long hair and like to keep it that way, and Richie took the time to listen to my preferences, asked thoughtful questions, and reviewed his plan before proceeding. The outcome was a gorgeous cut that he perfected once dry and made sure I was happy before styling it. It quickly became clear that Richie is a highly trained professional, yet he is humble and creates a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable. He could be in the highest end salons of Manhattan but has brought his own down-to-earth personality and exceptional talent to Norwalk to create the Hair Lab.
