Look elsewhere for a repair service. We had a 3 year old Bosch refrigerator that was losing temperature. Reo was recommended by the store we bought the fridge from. The technician initially diagnosed the fridge as needing to be defrosted to get rid of ice build-up. Emptied the fridge into coolers for a day put everything back in and watched the temp creep back up to the high 50s.
After that didn’t work, the technician felt it was the rear panel so we bought that for a few hundred bucks and waited a few weeks for the part to arrive. Again emptied the fridge into coolers, put everything back and watched the temperature creep up again.
After that didn’t work he felt it was the defrost sensor (which he didn’t realize was not included on the original replacement part). He installed a defrost sensor he had on hand, which he admitted was for an LG fridge.
When that didn’t work he offered to come and remove that part and put the right one in but that part happened to be on back-order for 2 months!
We threw in the towel and bought a new fridge. The technician offered a refund for the original part because it was a bad diagnosis.
Now several weeks later we are still waiting on the refund! We have been calling and getting the “let me check and I’ll call you back” BS. And now the office “manager” has changed the refund amount to account for a 25% restocking fee that was never discussed. Unbelievably unprofessional and gives the customer an attitude as if we are to blame for this situation.
Get a second opinion before you let Reo service any of your appliances. And beware of their...
Read moreI bought a Thermodor tower freezer and refrigerator directly from Thermodor in 2015. Since that purchase date I have had constant problems with the ice maker. The ice would clump up and stick together and we would get frost at the chute and on the bottom of the ice bucket. Three separate trips to my house with many parts replaced by the Thermodor repair staff. Every time they came out they replaced parts and it still never worked correctly, Finally, I called Thermodor and told them I did not want any of their service people to come out because they had no knowledge of the units issues and could not fix it. They told me to call Reo's appliances as they recommended them as an outside service and they agreed to pay for it. Reo's guys came out and within 30 minutes figured out what the the issue was. The flap for the ice dispenser had a defective design and the old Thermodor service people never found the issue nor the replacement with a newer designed flap assembly . They ordered the new part and now it works fine, no icing or frost. I highly recommend these guys as they know their stuff and take the time to figure...
Read moreI have an out-of-warranty LG fridge with in-the-door water and ice dispenser. The dispenser would not give out ice or water and had a small water leak because the dispensing paddle was pushed all the way back and jammed. LG Support gave me the names of the only three authorized service centers in my area. Only one company was willing to come, and the next appointment was a week and a half away. I had purchased from REO in the past so I gave them a call. I got an appointment that just three days away. Rich, the service tech, was so nice and had a great sense of humor. He determined the problem within minutes and fixed the paddle on the dispenser, which had been pushed too hard and came out of its track. Everyone is happy! REO has always been able to help me and the cost for this repair was less than the LG authorized service companies. I love supporting local small businesses. It's good for the community and I can build a positive relationship with them so they are eager to help me when I need them. Go with REO the next time you need a new appliance or service. They will be...
