The food was good, the drinks were good. We had 22 people in our party, 2 more than we'd reserved for but they were quick to accommodate. I'd made my reservation with Harvey directly several months early, he was prompt, and professional. Also, the 2 servers we had were very nice.
I have a dairy allergy, as does my sister. Harvey had assured me on the phone he could accommodate this. Plus, I told the server who took our food order, and she acknowledged it, and to her credit our meals came dairy free, but apparently our apps did not? We had the calamari and the fried avocado, and some of the table bread but they had brought us a basket without the cheese on it. Their menu didn't mention any dairy in the calamari or avocado. I'm aware that some places do use dairy in such batters, but our waitress didn't mention any such thing as I ordered it and reminded her of our dairy allergy. Our dining experience resulted in my sister and I both having allergic reactions after dinner, and into the next morning while I was getting ready for our morning wedding. Picture me in the bridal suite, congested, coughing, itchy, and with digestive issues, waiting for someone to bring me allergy medicine while my hair is getting done. No bride ever wants to go through that. Then, the waitress had no idea what beers they had, and my sister's order was wrong, but not a huge deal- she ordered the white clam sauce and got the red clam sauce. She ate it anyway because the service was slow, but again we had a large party and have both worked in restaurants.
The absolute worst part of the night was settling the final bill. After meal service our servers virtually disappeared. Most of our party had left while we sat there waiting. No one ever brought the bill. I finally went to the host stand, requested our bill. I also showed them that I'd had a Dime Perks coupon for 10% off. But neither the woman at the host station, nor our server getting the bill had ever heard of it. Our second server hadn't been seen again past dinner. So they went to get another server, who took my phone, and just seemed suspicious of me. He asked me if I worked at the bank. I explained to him what the Dime Perks program is and that I do not work at the bank. He asked to take my phone to the manager. I gave it to him. He then told me I could go sit back down twice, and twice I told him I'd stay where I was (by the host stand). He then tried to assure me he wasn't stealing my phone, and I again told him I was fine standing where I was. Frankly, I wasn't going to sit back down because I'd been sitting there waiting for a check too long already. So he comes back with the phone and says his manager confirmed it, and just wanted me to show him how to get to the discount in the app. So I walk him through the process.
Then we received our handwritten bill, without the discount. So then they did some math on a sticky note that they stuck to the bill, which was actually 2 bills, one for apps and drinks, and one for our meals. And it was just unclear. There were several totals on the bottom but nothing indicating tax or a service charge or gratuity or what. So I went to the host stand again and asked if gratuity was included and explained that we were having trouble understanding the bill and was just told "no." So, from what we can surmise, our bill was about $1700. We tipped $300 as we were told gratuity wasn't included. But honestly, they could have been making that up. In the restaurants I've worked in, we include it for parties of 8 or more. So I'm wondering if we got swindled for an additional tip or not.
Overall, the settling up experience was very uncomfortable which really marred my opinion of the service. And my maid of honor and I both had allergic reactions for my wedding. It's probably fine for a date night, but absolutely would not recommend for large parties or anyone with...
Read moreWe are Vermonters that came to Connecticut for our anniversary and it was my husband's birthday today. It had been a long drive from VT (not for me since my husband drove but it was his birthday so we relaxed for a little bit until we got hungry). We decided to do Bella Fiore since it had many options. I struggle to decide what I want if there's a limited menu and my husband tends to be picky. We were able to walk there from our AirBnB and we were so happy we did!
We walked in and we're greeted politely by a tall man and a shorter lady with dark hair. I regret to say I didn't get their names since they did FANTASTIC but it was a Thurday evening on September 4th and they took us to the left of the entrance and we ended up in a room so stunning I kept going "wow look at that" and pointing to specific details in the room to my husband. We were seated by the lady and she pulled the table out for us so we could sit! She is the best waitress I've ever had anywhere we've been (and we've eaten in many different places).
My husband got the mozzarella sticks which he said we're delicious (they were a decent size too!) and the garlic bread they gave us from the get go was, you guessed it, delicious as well! He got a Blue Moon and I ended up getting a "Relaxer" martini which they served in a martini glass and had the rest in a shaker. It was enough for 2.5 martinis at 12 bucks!
We ended up getting the Penne Bolognese (he says it was yummy) and I ended up with a risotto special with bone in chicken (DELICIOUS). If we weren't so full, the Tiramisu sounded scrumptious but we were too full and had to get to-go boxes for our leftovers. Our waitress was nice enough to box everything up for us.
The restaurant itself was absolutely beautiful to look at and sit in. Our only complaint was that it was a bit humid and made it feel hot inside but we think it was a combination of the delicious hot food, how hot it was that day, and the beautiful water feature in the room.
Honestly, it was the best service we've ever had, amazing food, and the prices were more than adequate for what was served. Our waitress really made it fantastic. Thank you lady, whatever your name is, you did fantastic. (She had long dark brown hair, a little bit of an accent, very polite, brown eyes, and was a hard worker.)
Thank you...

Him and his staff checked up on our needs frequently. He recommended some dishes I tried such as the mussels and an amazing chicken special they were serving (I forgot the name). The mussels were fresh, cooked perfectly and in a delicious white garlic sauce. Sauce was so good I dipped my bread in. Presentation was beautiful! On to the entree, a chicken special. Unbelievably delicious. I ate it so fast I was the first one done out of the other 3. It was so good I will get it again next time I go. I will post pictures of the dish so you can ask for it. Amazing. The service and food was top notch. So happy I came back. They care about their customers and genuinely good people. This experience leaves me no choice but to leave 5 stars.
The inside of this establishment is very nice. Beautiful wall painting and nice seating on the dining side with an elegant waterfall and on the bar side is a cool led lit up area. Very pleasant staff, they seemed to be short handed and service could have been a little bit better but understandable as there was only 3 wait staff. I had to ask a couple times for drinks and lemon for the water. I eventually went to the bar to get it myself. The appetizers weren't great, the calamari was all rings and no tentacles. Seemed to be breaded a little carelessly as some spots weren't breaded. I don't think they were strained properly because of lots of oil and not a very good crisp crust either. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they came from the frozen section of a grocery store. Their marinara sauce was actually pleasant. I am Italian and its very hard to come by a marinara sauce that's edible let alone good. As far as the entrees and dessert go, absolutely delicious. They cook their steak perfectly. Garnished for presentation and tasted great. I would like to rate 3.5 stars instead of 3 but no option to. If they had more staff this rating would have been a 4. And if their appetizers were a little bit of a higher quality I would have rated a 5. I would go there again. Delicious entrees and nice atmosphere with...
