I used to be a weekly customer when it was Tokyo sushi, and the sushi and service were always top notch. I recently moved out of the area and still drove the 25 mins every week to get my sushi fix.
However, I learned it just turned to Mido this past weekend. I placed my order online at 11:30am to be ready at 12:30pm. I arrive at 12:45 and the food isn’t ready. By 1pm it still wasn’t ready. 2 other customers were there also waiting for their orders to be completed. One was waiting for over 10 mins to get her soup and salad and just left because it wasn’t worth the wait. While I tried to address this with someone in management, they kept apologizing and saying it was their first day open and they didn’t get my online order, even though my order was printed when I arrived. Well, you only get to make one first impression (especially as a new restaurant) and I was appalled at the lack of organization. They’ve had my order for 1.5 hours and it still wasn’t ready! It wasn’t a big order, just 2 sushi lunch specials. The prices were higher than Tokyo sushi and ordering online has a $1.50 service fee which I paid for them “not to get my order”?
I’m sure Mido will work out their kinks but I won’t be back. I love a good spicy tuna roll (where the tuna is chopped and with the spicy mixture) but their version was odd, it was basically a tuna roll w the tempura and spicy mayo next to the tuna. Wasn’t even spicy. The fish did taste fresh and the renovations inside were nice but I can’t see past waiting my sushi being ready 40 mins after the time I asked it to be ready for, paying a higher price for the food and a service fee. I had to ask for a drink during the extensive time I was waiting... good customer service would have offered this or provided a discount to make unhappy customers happy, but nothing.
Nonetheless I hope they work on their customer service , but I really would love Tokyo...
Read moreMe and a few people recently dined in at Mido Sushi for the first time, we usually order take out. The food was amazing as always. But when it came to service I am extremely disappointed. We walked in about an hour to close and immediately we were rushed. The server put our menus in front of us then took them back again saying we needed to order right now and that the kitchen was closing. Which being in customer service in food we understood. She rushed our orders and forgot my friends food, I had to call her over to have my friend order. We ordered a ramen, 3 sushi rolls and a sushi pizza. After about 20 minutes our food came out and we ate, all the while the server looming over us every 3 minutes when there was another table of guests. When we were leaving we got boxes for the food we did not eat and grabbed the check. I filled out the check and tipped what I thought was a credible amount due to how insensitive the server was to us: almost forgetting my friends food, rushing us, staring at us while we ate. When she picked up the check she laughed and questioned my tip, she told me it was REQUIRED to select one of the tip SUGGESTIONS. At this point it was late and I just wanted to go home so we sat there for a five minutes staring at each other while my friends felt incredibly uncomfortable as there was obvious tension. Instead of making a scene and escalating the issue I ended up tipping 15$ on my bill and my friend $10, we ended up paying over $100 for 20 minutes of eating and an insanely rude server. I left knowing I would never come back and have since told my entire friends and family about the situation. No one should feel forced to tip more than they can offer, what if all we had left in our bank was what we offered and it still wasn’t good enough for her? My recommendation do take out so you don’t have to deal with this horrible situation...
Read moreThey are very discriminatory with children. The owner sent us to a small table where they do pick. I asked the owner if there is a reason why we could not sit on the other side, on the main floor? She raised her and like "talk to my hand" and walked off and told another girl to talk to me. She told me because of the baby chair. The baby chair will take a lot of space, and it will be hard for other people to move around if they want to move. It is the weekend they usually expect a lot of people it will get busy having the child chair there it will not be comfortable for other people. They have probably 3 people at the bar and 3 other table with people. I asked her with difference it make if were 4 or 5 adults? She said they are expecting more people coming in they will need those tables free. That is the rule they have now, inclusive on Friday they have a lady that came in with a baby they did the same thing. It is the rule now at their restaurant. I asked her if that is the same rule for someone in the wheelchair? Because a wheelchair takes more space than a baby chair. She just kept on going with excuses after excuses. At that point we just walked way.
Updated: Off course you are sorry and apologies here online. Why didn't you apologies while I was there? You even raised your hand for me to stop and walked away asking the young girl to talk to me.
It is sad for your restaurant not to let people with wheelchair or baby eat like everyone else. It is money for money. You were rude and racist that is the bottom of it. Don't come to apologies here. You had your chance to do it. At no time you open your mouth to say a word to us.
I never had a stroller; my daughter walked in and sat on my lap while they went to look for kid's chair. The place was...
