Joys Country Skillet was suggested by a friend of a friend. Being transplanted here by the military, it pays to know locals😋 The food at Joy's is awesome and so is the service! I love the casual diner feel here and the staff clearly knows the community and the regulars that come in. They are attentive, making sure coffee is filled and you have what you need. I very much enjoyed my Enchiladas Suizas on my first visit and there are plenty more options I'm looking forward to trying. The parking is problematic on the weekend; not a big lot for a popular place. *Note: don't park at the auto place across the way...they DO notice! Overall I enjoyed my experience at Joys and love having another great breakfast option. ❤️

We happened upon this place after leaving the casino this morning, and I'm so glad we did. This pic is of my Habernero Ranchero breakfast. Everything tasted so fresh and homemade. They even freshly squeeze our orange juice. The portion was huge, but I genuinely enjoyed every bite. The menu is vast array of American and Mexican and just yumminess! Definitely worth skipping the buffet at Mohegan Sun, and grabbing this on the way home instead.

This place had me sold as soon as I read “we wouldn’t have stopped if we didn’t read the reviews” The restaurant front isn’t anything fancy, but the food was amazing. Had the western omelette and a pancake, it was absolutely wonderful. Coffee was great too, didn’t taste burnt like some smaller places sometimes do. Waitress was friendly and out going. Menu has something for everyone!

This is my 3rd time st this restaurant, the 1st two times the service was exceptional, Today however i brought in 9 of my family members, we are from Massachusetts, and our waitress was very rude, she really needs some customer service skills.Where do i start, 1st off I ordered the bacon, grits, and toast with eggs on the side, a side of sausage, asked her if she could have them split open the links and fry well done, she tells me no, then says ill see, 2nd I asked for the eggs on a separate plate and infomed her i dont eat eggs(i give them to my husband) 3rd i asked for a side of homefries and she says u ordered grits as if i didnt know that. She brings the plate with my sausage sitting right on top of the eggs, the sausage not split open, she then says She told the cook to separate, i said im not eating thst, she takes it back and comes back with the eggs separated, sausage split open, but no bacon, i asked wheres the bacon, she said you ordered sausage, i tell her i ordered the plate with bacon, and a side of sausage, she brings the check and then proceeds to reach over me grabbing the plates that we ate off, she was so ruff that she dropped the plates on the table, i wasnt even gonna leave a tip, i usually tip 20% as i have done on both my previous visits, but i left this pos a $2 undeserved tip. Since we had a party of 10 we had 3 different tables, upon meeting outside the other 2 tabkes complained about this waitress attitude, neither table left a tip, the waitress then proceeds to yell in the restaurant nibody leaves a tip in which the person.left in there let her know that her attitude and only offering coffee and not asking what they would like to drink and then walking away was the reason. The table had to ask for their drinks. Really this waitress makes your business look horrible, and I am embarrassed that my friends and family had to experience this, Today is December 29th 2019 and we left there at...

Ever tell yourself, "I could use some good home-cooking" - but where someone else cooks, tends to your needs and cleans up afterwards? Well, hustle over to Joy's Kitchen then, less than a mile north of Mohegan Sun, 'cuz they do all three of these things really well. On a recent brunch visit, my wife and I immediately appreciated how attentive and polite the servers are. And the place is downright homey! Next, since I always cherish an eatery that can conjure up a heapin' bowl (or cup) o' grits, I'll be long remembering Joy's. Grits just that good! And under Mr. Flores' new but seasoned guidance, you can expect really fresh eggs, meats, veggies and home fries, nicely prepared American and/or Mexican style - and at darn good prices. The coffee and tea are also tend to flow about steady as the nearby Thames River, just hotter 'n tastier! The only glitch I detected was my bacon showed up a bit crispy, but server Marcos was ready to bring a softer batch pronto if I wanted; and he deserves top grades for his hospitality. All in all, if you want a comfy corale where you can fill up on tasty, nutritious fare, stop looking! Skedaddle over to Joy's, the warm, local place to...

My experience having breakfast at Joy's restaurant this morning was very enjoyable and positive. The menu includes a lot of options for Mexican style meals which I very much enjoy. I found a nice variety of breakfast options on the menu and finally settled on the Mexican omelet. I also ordered a cup of coffee and a small orange juice. The omelet came with among other things, jalapenos and avocado both of which I love. It was a good size portion and very nicely cooked. The breakfast came with a side order of home fried potatoes and I have to say I really like the way they were cooked. Rather than big chunks of potato they were thick slices of fried potatoes so there was lots of crunchy bits and lots of tender bits and were well seasoned. I enjoyed them. I ordered rye toast and was very happy with it. The slices were thick and well buttered. The coffee was nice and rich. The waitress said that the orange juice was fresh squeezed but I have to say it didn't taste like it. It was okay. Not great. The place was clean and well lit and the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. This was My second visit, the first having been seven or eight years ago. I enjoyed my...
